He was horrific at centre last year, got moved out of there quick smart and looked semi competent on the wing. Definitely worth keeping around as depth.
The whole point is that he is clearly a better player this year than he was last year.
From the minute he came on the field in the Canberra trial he looked bigger, fitter and stronger than last year, and he has since shown that he has worked on his skills too.
He won't be picked for SOO III, but for a guy with 32 firstgrade games, he is starting to look OK IMO.

Elliott, easy. You run a fair bit slower carrying the ball, and even with that handicap he has smoked speedsters like Val Holmes and Ponga.

He will come with a discount now and brings experience at nrl and rep level plus a big body in the backs which should be good for getting out of our own end and take some pressure off our forwards so sign him up. I hope he plays centre thou I am not a huge fan of him as a winger.

I'm wondering if he is on his way to Newcastle now to sign a contract with us.

On another note; Barry Toohey tweeted tonight, Lovett and that young pommie center are both not happening.

Thannnnnk truck.

Sick of this ESL garbage players talk.
Id look half alright in the ESL.

They will cost more due to coming from another country and are reggies players at best.

Last 10yrs only 3 have been great players
S burgess
Graham
Hodgson
Plenty of others have tried and failed though.

Those are the 3 guys that could make a world's best 17, but there's still good players over there. Whitehead is quality & Mike Cooper was a good forward. George Burgess has the talent to be the best prop in the world, but is lazy & dumb. It's definitely a place, we specifically should be looking at. Apparently all the good forwards there are contracted at the moment unfortunately & you don't want to be paying transfer fees unless they're really good.

Ellis was better than all 3 imo. Pretty big omission.

Ewww hard to go past S Burgess though.
Man is a weapon and has lifted a team to the grand tiltle of champion.
Graham has been regarded as the best prop in modern rugby league.

Ill take Ellis over Hodgson though.

I did forget about him so credit there Mozza

Ben Teo's role in taking Souths to the title is often understated I think he was just as important as Burgess especially when he came to things like kick chase it was always Burgess and Teo coming through to belt the opposition and lift their team. Sam Burgess is one of the great English player but I think Mal Reilly is still the best Brit to ever play league in Australia taking Manly to the title as a player and us to the title as a coach.

Ill never under estimate Teo, the man should of been given a huge offer by us to stay in the nrk...
Mal i was under as a player and have huge respect for. He didnt just make u a footballer but a honest man as well.

Teo is defiantly a player we should have went hard for especially since we let a number players of go that year from memory that was the year Cuthbertson and Boyd left, Being coached by Reilly would have been unreal.
