Turn it up. I'd be happy with $900k for Bird, State of Origin player at 21 and just the type of never say die competitor we need.

My point was actually aimed at u an chief..
Wont dare believe the media quotes of pongas deal but swallow the media quote on Birds deal...... hmmmm

Wouldn't believe any of that nonsense until the NRL confirms it, or Toohey says it's a done deal.

Not bothered by the dollars ... Mooney knows what he's doing with the cap. Look at how much he's improved our position in just 12 months. He's done an incredible job.

Admittedly the cards have fallen our way with a few medical retirements and a druggie.

If we pull this off than we have signed two top players in Kalyn Ponga and Jack Bird and Brown and Mooney will deserve a good pat on the back. Fingers crossed it gets over the line.

RE Bird denying it on social media if he is dumb enough to turn down most likely $200k a year extra I don't want someone that dumb anyway.

Joey and matty both looked at SL and the $$$ but once Chief signed on with the ARL and had a chat with them... the johns boys stayed put.

By memory they both signed for 200k each and knocked back almost 500k between them.

So thank chief for them staying

Daniel is not travelling at all well. Thin he is more at home as a backrower playing wider rather than trying to mix it with opposition props.

Billy is Daniel much lighter than Jake? For mine I can't believe he comes in at 125 compared to Jake's 119!

My memory of the super league war was the Chief got all of the team together locked up, and convinced them all that the ARL was the side they were going with. Once that was decided the club didn't have any other option than to side with the ARL.

So I suggested front rowers are more a priority then flashy outside backs and lord of the flies disagrees, so what's your thought on our current front row rotation, can they win a GF with the likes of bird and ponga behind them?, I say a big no, I'd have lamb at 5/8 and better props any day

We need BOTH to win a GF. But we can only sign one player at a time.

Yeah I think the club was initially keen on Super League until that happened?

Correct James and kurri,

Chief was the boss back then and he took the club where he wanted it to be... brave and smart move.

Dont think we would have the 97 premiership if we had to play the broncos... that broncs team was one of the best 17 ever
