If that's how he feels, we shouldn't even entertain bringing him to the club. Surely we only want players that want to be here and will put in and earn their money!

Look elsewhere Browny.

Lmao never heard a bigger load of horse**** in my life

If we or any other club offered him eveb 20% more than what the Sharks could, his manager would convince him to take it

Words are cheap, especially for young kids riding the emotion of a grandfinal win. What an unrealistic and juvenile thing to say

I thought the same. It was only a couple of years ago that the Sharks got the spoon. Every clubs fortunes ebb and flow. Cronulla's premiership window is starting to close and they're most likely on the way down. Same as the Cowboys and Storm over the next couple of years.

Completely true. One would think he'd be able to see that

The only teams who can stay competitive through rebuilds or continous success are teams that have champion players fixed throughout the spine--the sharks don't have that and the storm are about to lose theirs

or clubs with seemingly unlimited 3rd party deals , Bulldogs, Roosters, Broncos etc perennial finalists.

See wouldn't a challenge be to bring a struggling club to the top then cash in ? Brain smith did it with us and got a huge deal at the roosters

Why take that gamble when you're at the current premiers enjoying success and still likely to get an offer of around 700-800k... Will most likely be made to look better than he is by having other quality around him leading to rep honours and more cash there.

Go to a struggling club lose form and potentially say bye bye to rep honours.

Big gamble indeed when he probably isn't losing out at all if he stays and then makes rep sides.

If u go back about 2 months on this topic i said the exact same thing cows,

Ive said it from daydot with this Bird and holmes thing that to invest 1.5mil plus in 2 edge backs is just stupid... add to it his response and we are mad to bother with him.
Not worth 500k imo. Does well in thebest team but will be average in a average team

Agreed, one prop like Woods or James is worth twice as much as a centre or winger.
Though we would be looking at maybe 750k instead of 1.5mil and get much better returns with the likes of the twins getting a big hard working leader to show the way

Neither were never even considering coming nhere. It was a wind up by the ham berger is all - right from the word go.

It'd be nice to have a player like Bird at the club but as Josh and Lord said if we're going to chase anyone it should be a top front-rower before anything else. We need players who are willing to help build this club back up.

I would love Bird here but if he doesnt want to help the club and would just be coming for the big money then forget it and buy someone that wants the challenge here and wants to help the club be great again ...Besides he wants to play 5/8 I read and that's no good we have Ponga for that AAAAAHHHHH just kidding thought id get your collective blood boiling ....

I thought this would have got some sort of attention on here, but Toohey also said in his Sunday write up, the Knights have held talks with Chris Grevsmuhl. No offer has been made yet, with the Knights doing their "due diligence" re his recent past.

Personally, I think he would be an awesome signing.

I think he would be good value at a cheap price on a one year 'no misbehaving' contract with an extension at the end of the year maybe.

He gets into arguments with the coach / quits at good clubs, how is he going to act at the worst one?

We're saving up big money for marquee players, but we obviously have to buy cheap played between then. If we're going to sign cheap players, these are the kinds of project players that good clubs sign. Cheap, easy to get rid of, but possibly high potential mid-season type signings to try & prove their worth within a squad. Guys like Dave Taylor, Jackson Hastings, Liam Knight, Paul Carter, Suaia Matagi, Joe Burgess, Tony Williams, Hurrell or QCup & NSW Cup stars that are stuck behind a lot of people like Barnett, Carlin Anderson & Josh Addo-Carr.

These guys are generally picked up off the scrap heap after some trouble & a lot of them actually come good. Some of them will be ****heads & continue on to their next club. Though it's better than signing cheap middle age guys straight out of Cup like Pete or Starling anyway.
