Really?? Didn't even know that. That's devastating, was really hitting his straps this season, was one of the best second-rowers in the game in the first few rounds.
 
In other recruitment news newcastle is close to signing Danny Buderus with a list of players for an exchange sent to Leeds and player managers contacted. If a player transfer falls through it is expected that Newcastle will pay a transfer fee of anything between 100k and 150k to release him. the transfer fee will not be included in the salary cap in any way. Greg Bird will most likely move to the Sydney Roosters, Sharks, Dragons, Broncos? or maybe to Newcastle if we have enough money left though not very plausable. Also Alex Mckinnon will most likely sign with the Knights although is a very small chance of resigning with the Dragons. Adam Cuthbertson has not decided on his future yet but has been heavily linked to Newcastle because of Wayne Bennett, Newcastle has tabled an offer to him and also the Dragons have most likely offered him a decent contract. Ryan Stig is expected to stay in Newcastle after Newcastle extended their one year contract to a two year contract. 4 other clubs are also speculated to be in the race for his signiture most likely Parramatta, South Sydney, Broncos and the Sharks. Con Mika, Cameron Ciraldo and Shannon Mcdonnell are on the outside and have been told to look for a new club, All three have been heavily linked to super league.
Also Zane Tetevano and Peter Matautai will be in Newcastle for the next 2 years

Would love to have Eddy Pettybourne been a big wrap on him for a few years especially under Bennett where he would improve his workload great buy at the right price
 
I am all for signing Pettybourne but first sign Buderus because we have like 7+ forwards and no number 9 and plus Greg Bird is available and looking for a new club he has been a shining light for a titans team which is just in a form slump
 
Siuatonga Likiliki unhappy with his time in Newcastle and has agreed to rejoin the Warriors next season. Daine Laurie is under the microscope by Wayne Bennett at the moment seems likely he'll be given a contract for next season with the Knights.
