So with Matt King signing, where does that leave a kid like Dylan Farrell?

They lose Sandow and sign a centre... doesn't sound right to me!
They have a pretty decent half coming up. Can't think of his name. but they said there gunna use him

Interesting move to instate Cleary as coach. I find it intriguing that Cleary was basically Gus' number one target. Hopefully we can now sign those two players that we are supposedly going to sign within the coming days. My hope is Heighington, Tupou or Anasta. Ryan can be a fall back

I dont know why you'd want Anasta? Tupou would want money that reflects his career best form, not what he has been doing the last few years.

And Cleary and Gus have History. Gus coached him during his time as the Roosters no. 1. So its not to suprising to see Gus head hunt him.

Wanna know why I want Anasta? Because Burns is s***. He has no flair, can't attack and can defend well but thats not what you look for in a half. At least Anasta, has a decent kicking game, a pretty good passing game and can create things. I would happily take Ryan Stig of your hands as well though. Much better than Burns.

Tupou, Heigno and Lewis would be a pretty good backrow. It would look better with Waterhouse there but I have basically resigned to the face he will be leaving at years end.

Also FYI, Sandor Earl has announced on his facebook that he has re-signed for an additional season.

There was a rumour last week, Stig to Penrith. Dunno how true it is??

Added after 52 minutes:

Matthew Elliott joins the Sydney Roosters coaching staff as assistant coach.

Anasta was always going to be linked to Penrith given Gus' relationship with him, the bloke loves him and is the reason he was brought to the Roosters. Heino would be a decent pick up for you guys IMO, Tupou hasn't performed to even half of his pay packet at Cronulla.

Anasta > Burns.

Braith offers a good kicking game, strong running game and crisp passing game. Victim of the playmaking circumstances at the Roosters, would be a first string 5/8th at more than a few teams and still very capable of earning another NSW jersey. Petero won't have much longer in him IMO so leadership may be a factor also as to why he is being targetted. If Penrith are buying him to play second row, I personally would consider him to be a massive waste of $$$. Strictly a 6 IMO.

If we had a spot in the halves to be filled, i'd like him at the Knights!

Daine Laurie is playing for the Toronto Scorpions in Newcastle. Im not from around there but it seems like all the ex NRL bad boys go to play in the Newcastle comp, why is that?

Agree with most of this except the leadership part. Luke Lewis is a more than capable leader and should assume the captaincy once Petero does hang up his boots.

On another note, Trent Waterhouse -> Warrington Wolves (confirmed) http://www.warringtonwolves.org/wolves-pounce-for-panther-4433

A huge day for Penrith.

Only other i can think of is Ryan Tandy? Tandy is definately not 'all' ex NRL bad boys.

Best group footy there is... Hoopa was meant to play for toukley...

buderus at nine and gids FE and mullen at halfback he had been good this season at halfback with a few 40/20's hes but still the team u thought would still be good without buderus

but i think that buderus should have two years just in case of injury because ive noticed that people coming from super league they usually become the worst buys of the season like mark riddell

blues to win and if that happens when blues hold the shield locky should hold 4 one more time.....

Gold Coast Titans continue to build for the future with Queensland State of Origin forward Ashley Harrison extending his contract with the club.

Harrison has played 69 games with the Titans since joining the club in 2008 from South Sydney.
Harrison agreed to extend his existing contract for a further year which will see him remain on the Gold Coast until the end of the 2013 season.
The 30-year-old has been an important member of Queensland's successful Origin team since 2008 and he seems eager to remain a key part of what looks to be a promising future for the Titans.
"I see a big future for the Titans and wanted to be part of what the club is building,’’ said Harrison.
“My agent told me I had interest from other clubs but my loyalty to the Titans and to Carty (Coach John Cartwright) is strong.
“I re-established my Origin career with the Titans and I know that moving forward the Titans will be a force in the competition which is why I am excited to be re-signing.’’
Coach John Cartwright said Harrison was the ultimate professional who led by example for the rest of the squad.
“It’s great to have 'Harro' staying with the club. Everyone within our organisation knows what he brings to the team and how tough he is,’’ said Cartwright.
"You really notice him in the tight situations and he’s always willing to do the hard work when it needs to be done.’’
Managing Director Michael Searle said Harrison was a tough competitor who would help the balance of the playing roster as it takes on a different look over the next two seasons.
“Ashley has been a key part of the club’s successful finals campaigns last year and in 2010 so it’s great that we’ve been able to keep him here on the Gold Coast for a further year,’’ said Searle.
“He’s very professional in everything he does and is one of our most consistent players.
“With some new players coming into the mix next year, his leadership and experience will be a valuable asset for the club moving forward.’’

Obviously the salary cap doesn't apply to all teams.

It all just seems too fishy to me.

doesnt look like it...but as it has been said before many times that they lost a few players for next year...

what would the go be for mat rogers???
would any money they pay him count towards the cap???
I wonder how much they would be paying him for the rest of the season
