2009 NRL Player Rumours & Signings

I was happy when we signed Wes.

His was repeatedly driving without a license, nothing that actually hurt anybody else.

Glassing your girlfriend is one of the lowest acts I have ever heard ... Bird should be banned for life from league, if you ask me.

yes the glassing was bad, but you wouldn't be saying the driving thing wasn't that bad if he had hit someone.

rumours 2010:
ben roberts > knights

contracts with parerson to the NFL have moved further ahead.

There were rumours a few weeks back that Roberts & Lee Te Maari would be sacked by Canterbury by the years end. Not sure how accurate that is but one has to think, another off field incident and he will be following Maitua out

He was charged with driving without a licence.

In my opinion, that is a fairly minor misdemeanor. We can only speculate on his driving standards, but he is probably at no more chance of hitting somebody than any other driver! It is only the repeated nature of the offence that meant if warranted the harsh penalty.

It's a completely different thing ... I'd rate Naiqama maybe 3 on the scale of offences, Bird is a 9.5 (at least he didn't murder her).

Some Bulldogs fans have said there going to sign Cory Patterson for the 2010 season and beyond on a lucrative contract, they have alot of room under the cap so it could be true.

I'm pretty close to knowing that Pato will definitely re-sign with the Knights.

But Pato would be an SBW for the Bulldogs - except he wouldn't run off to France.

WAYNE Bennett's refit of St George Illawarra may not be over as fresh rumours circulate about the future of recently retired Brisbane forward Tonie Carroll.

Carroll, who is working in real estate on the Gold Coast, appeared to have played his last game when the Broncos had a heart-breaking loss to Melbourne in the second week of the finals.

However, it is believed he is weighing up the prospects of playing one more season under Bennett at the Dragons, albeit on a significantly reduced contract.

David Stagg confirms Bulldogs move
AAP

Brisbane forward David Stagg has confirmed he will join rival NRL club the Bulldogs next season.
Stagg will link with fellow ex-Broncos forwards Michael Ennis and Ben Hannant at the Dogs after exercising an option in his contract with Brisbane over the weekend.
He will join the Sydney club on a two-year deal for the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
Stagg says he also had an offer to go to English Super League club Salford but the opportunity to remain in the NRL was too good to pass up.

I've heard the Bulldogs are chasing Tony Carroll aswell so if he does come out of retirement it will be with the Bulldogs or Dragons
