 I spoke to louman last night on msn and said it could be a possibillity and not to bring it up on the forum because it would never happen.

And now look

Just ignore him. Burraston has said were not chasing anyone now.

Meanwhile.

Nathan Smith wants out of his contract with Canberra but they don't want to allow it, how interesting is this.

FURIOUS Canberra officials are preparing to legally challenge the NRL's player transfer rules after 2009 recruit Nathan Smith became the latest star to renege.

Just a week after Panthers playmaker Luke Lewis exploited the NRL loophole to get out of a deal with Souths, teammate Smith last night followed suit by backflipping on his three-year deal with the Raiders.

Smith agreed to terms with Canberra on April 29, but was reluctant to leave Penrith and only agreed to do so because the Raiders offered $50,000 more per season.

After witnessing Lewis's reversal seven days ago, he approached Penrith officials earlier this week to reaffirm his desire to stay.

And... His signed with Penrith. Raiders fans wouldn't be too worried, his shyt anyway!

CEO Michael Leary has announced the re-signing of Nathan Smith for another 3 years.
“Nathan has been in good form for the Panthers,” Michael Leary said. “I’m pleased we have been able to keep him.”

Head Coach Matthew Elliott said that the development of Nathan as a first grade player has played a part in the success of the Panthers this year.

Not really. All they need is some good halves.

I agree. They do need some front row depth though IMO, and maybe another outside back like a centre, because I'm personally not a fan of Simmons in the centres, and I have no idea what's going on with Filiga behind the scenes or what Stuart thinks of him at the moment, but I agree, I think they're in pretty good shape, they just need a couple of halves.

Filiga has been going shyt in NYC. Some sharks fans are spewing they even bought him.

The team isnt performing but they think he will play FG before the end of the year.

I agree Smith is crap but once you sign a deal you can't turn your back on the club youve signed with. It is crap!

Its a loophole that the nrl seriously need to fix. I don't see why once he agrees, they dontt get his signature and confirm it, then he cant go anywhere.

Faiumu cuts ties with Cowboys

ANTHONY STEWART

07Jun08

COWBOY David Faiumu has been granted a release from the remainder of his NRL contract and is expected to join Huddersfield in the English Super League next week.

The hooker, who extended his stay with the club last season, was released from the final year-and-a-half of his contract yesterday, allowing him to join the NRL player exodus.

Faiumu could not be contacted for comment yesterday but he is believed to be on his way to the Giants, where he will join fellow former Cowboy Rod Jensen.

Jensen made a similar exit from the Cowboys to Huddersfield last year following four seasons at the club.

North Queensland management confirmed Faiumu would no longer be contracted to the Cowboys but declined to comment on where he would be heading.

The 25-year-old joined the Cowboys in 2004, quickly forming a devastating combination with Aaron Payne as the club's hooker rotation.

Faiumu played 76 games for North Queensland, scoring eight tries, and played in the Cowboys' 2005 grand final loss to the Wests Tigers. He became a New Zealand international in the same year.

But Faiumu has played just four games this season, spending the majority of the year in the Queensland Cup after falling behind Anthony Watts in the club's No. 9 rotation.

The Cowboys have also recently signed George Gatis on a match payments-only deal to further bolster their stocks at dummy-half.

It has been anything but a settled 2008 campaign for Faiumu, who has had to combine his football with court appearances.

He was charged in Townsville earlier this year in relation to an alleged altercation with a 23-year-old man in Rockhampton's CBD last November.

Untitled23, was that source from ABC radio? cause i heard it too and there was a little bit of confusion between the sharks and dragons. They may have cleared it up later when i wasnt listening though.

Initially heard it there, then had a look at the Kennel and it's been said to be Cronulla.

Confirmed:

Bulldogs veteran joins Sharks
June 07, 2008

CRONULLA'S recruitment drive continued with Bulldogs hooker Corey Hughes signing a one-year deal for 2009.

The 30-year-old Bulldogs veteran joins Sydney Roosters star Anthony Tupou and former New South Wales and Australia five-eighth Trent Barrett in agreeing to head to the Shire in 2009.

Hughes, who has spent 10 years and played more than 200 NRL games for the Bulldogs, leaves after the blue and whites successfully lured Brisbane rake Michael Ennis to the club for next season.

Despite his age, Hughes is in some of the finest form of his career and was this year finally rewarded with selection in the NSW City Origin side.

"Corey brings a competitive edge as well as a wealth of experience to the club and despite being 30-years of age is in the best form of his career," said Sharks chief executive Tony Zappia.

1 year deal. Pretty interesting.

I wonder what the terms are for that.

Unreliable rumour from a guy calling in to ABC...

"Hannant to stay with Broncos"

Thoughts? I don't think the Broncos can stay under the salary cap.
