Sadly it's that time, your team for 2020

I really hope we don't do the same thing to best as what we did to sione (start on the wing .. then to center... Backrow... Back to center... Wing... Bench forward.... Etc..) hope we put him in a position and develop him in that 1 role.

I'm interested to know where Obi has Sione training.

Fullback too. A few games in the halves. Surprised Brown didn't throw him in at hooker.

I'm interested to know where Obi has Sione training.

Reserves hopefully.

And if he does make 1sts it says you guys are missing something. Has it been 3 coaches now that can't find a reason to drop him

I hate to sound like a broken record here but I will not be surprised if Adam O’Brien tells Sione to look elsewhere next offseason should we fail to make the top eight.

As with everyone selected for Round 1, Sione will be there on merit if his preseason warrants it. If he is still there in Round 5 it will be because he has shown he can learn from any mistakes he makes. If he is in reserves most of next year, Obi won't have to ask him to look elsewhere, I'd say he'll already be looking himself.

If O'Brien wants us to defend like Melbourne, with everyone moving up fast and closing down options for the playmakers by getting in their faces, Sione will be one of the first picked.
If he wants us to hold the defensive line and let them come to us, he won't pick Sione.
My guess is he is getting the boys super fit so they can rush up in defence all game, like the good sides do.

Pearce implied in his interview today that Mann is ahead of Crossland in the race to play 5/8 because Crossland has had injuries, Mann is training strongly, and the coach is looking for a settled lineup.

A settled line up ? That's 1 up on Brown and if you talk to players doing work on our "attack" before round 1 is another "new" thing.

Mann reminds me exactly how Bennett destroyed Gidley. The whole team will benefit from stability.

Herald article saying Mann is going well at 5/8.
Also says Crossland has a groin injury.
Also says Watson has done some training at lock and should be bench utility.
There is also a photo of the first 2020 training session. The only 2 guys who might have been cut for the new year squad in the photo are Huth and Saulo, so they have survived the cut.
Mann at 5/8 worries me defensively, but I trust Obi to get things right. The Watson role sounds like the Slade Griffin/Brandon Smith role at Melbourne. I'd expect Watson to carry it out very effectively.

I'm hoping Ese starts at lock too but don't mind Watson com8ng on for a stint there also

It makes sense, Brailey will get a fair chunk of minutes so to get Watson on the field you might need to just drop him in the middle. That used to be his role at the Roosters. Considering Glasby as a lock, we only have 4 NRL standard props in Klemmer, Dan, Ese, then Jacob who probably just scrapes into that category, so it's hard to see Ese being moved out of there, especially with any injuries that come.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Guerra beat out Barnett for a starting position. Only say Barnett coz he and Guerra are mainly either right or middle players
