Only thing that worries me is every time roosters are in an attacking area they will kick it to Marky who will out jump Marzhew every time
But Holbrook will have a plan for it I’m sure just hope it works

There is literally nothing that is that special about them this year or with their run in the finals that makes me think they are head and shoulders above us. In previous years they've just run into good teams (Melbourne a few times) and even the year they won in 2002 they played us without Joey and ran into an overrawed happy to be there Warriors. This year they've caught a bit of a break with their run. It was no surprise they were able to make another 2x GF but they also played teams who may be weren't sure they'd make another one in Penrith and the Bulldogs and they both played like it. That's a bit of a danger, knowing you're likely to be able to run it back in future years. Having already won one as well. Sea Eagles in the 90s etc...
Maybe that's why the Storm have lost a lot of those Grand Finals, to Sharks in 2016, and Broncos in 2025 with the same mentality as well.

There is obviously without a doubt the real possibility of losing, and if the team goes down swinging, that's okay. I just hope the players enjoy the week with the fans and are able to stay loose like they have been these last 3 weeks.

I don't think they'll let themselves down. If we lose it'll likely have something to do with the Chooks pack just having too much power and athleticism & them having too much creativity on top of that.

They will come out and try to blast us out of the game in the opening 20. If we can hold our ground and not let them get a big lead like the Phins did, game on. You'll start to see some nerves kick in for them. How badly do they want it? Is Daly Cherry-Evans there to inspire & lead a team to a premiership, or has he rocked up to try to collect an easy ring before he goes to enjoy an extended holiday in Europe?
 
There would be at least another 1000 lined up outside trying to get merch

Just want us to play well, and give the performance the team/club/fans deserve.

The only way I’m disappointed is if we finish the game thinking “gee, that was one of our worst games”.

If Roosters beat us and we play well, so be it. Fair play to them.

However, I think if we can muster an 8/10 performance - we stand a damn good chance.

I’m so conflicted - this team deserves all the accolades they get for their gritty wins in recent weeks, but I prefer the build up when they give us no chance 😂

Is merch even available, Stormers is majorly out of stock, Knights shop shut down lol...Peter Wynns doesn't have much, unless NRL shop has stuff. Surprised they would have stuff still...

Yeah don't disagree. The start against Penrith is how I hoped it would go. Don't need to chance themselves early. Find the mismatch and strike when the opportunity is seen. No big mistakes either.

We haven't had too many big mismatch one side GF's this decade, even in the last 10 years, other then the Cowboys limping in, and Eels being no match for Penrith (unsurprisingly)
 
At some point, injuries and suspensions need to be taken into account.

We've been playing without Saifiti, Mooney and Brown. We've done well, but its required herculean efforts in 3 back to back games, something which will tax the younger guys. Now we've lost Crossy.

Against a fresh, explosive, in form and full strength Roosters pack. Somethings gotta give. The odds being offered by bookies are on point imo

PVL getting hammered

I don't think this brand of gaslighting sits too well with people over here.

The NRL had 12 months to lock in the prematch entertainment; they bottled it, then this fraudulent legend claimed they scrapped it on purpose to spend more money on junior footy, then at the last minute claimed they've locked an act in that will be 'record breaking'.

The act is wheeling out Jai Arrow, who has no connection to either team, and has already been done several times. It's incredibly poor taste to link a guy with a terminal disease as entertainment. Actually it's pretty disgusting, as a save face for the blunder of bottling the prematch entertainment.

They’ve brought in a van with stuff by the looks of it. The line was that long I was surprised anyone bothered

Nah there’s plenty on the Roosters.

They have 58 origin and international reps, finished top four and have been singing their own praises and talking a big game all year. You add to that they are media darlings, massively sponsored, a foundation club and the toast of Sydney. They expect nothing less than an out and out beat down of Newcastle as that’s what’s pretty much expected from everywhere else.

Newcastle are a different team to the ones that faced them earlier. Nobody is giving them a lot of credit still, (though lots of hope and well wishes) There’s lots of hate from the supporters of the teams bundled out by Newcastle for being “piggy backed” by officials and being a team outside the top four who shouldn’t even be there. However if Newcastle won those 3 super close games and didn’t fold on old boys round then we would have been the top four team playing this weekend and be having a completely different conversation.

Honestly, I think the Roosters have a dangerous amount of ego. They are all high paid stars who have a stinker of a game and head snap in them. Too many individuals with no loyalty to the place as most are from afar and the coach with the personality of a rock. Alternatively, If Newcastle do what they’ve been doing well, shifting the ball, tackling hard and keep pumping each other up as a unit while remaining composed there’s absolutely no reason why they don’t bring that trophy home on the bus.
 
I just called Stormers in Bundaberg and they said they sold out of pretty much everything on Monday morning 😰😆 They sold a bit of Roosters stuff too but nothing like the Knights.

It sucks a bit up here for merch. The usual stores who stock a bit like Rebel, Best and Less and tobacco shops etc NEVER have Knights stuff anyway. It’s always Cows, Broncs and Penrith 🤮
