Remember that random player?

Spent all day trying to think of the name of Luke Dureau's halves partner.
Luke Dureau was Scott's older brother and he played juniors 2 years ahead of Scott.
He had a partner in the halves who was a fantastic tactical kicker and I just couldn't recall his name.
Finally remembered - Chris Tyrie.
I looked him up - he played some Union after leaving the Knights and is now a highschool PE teacher.
 
That Joey kick off the scrum I posted in another thread has got me thinking about Jamie Ainscough … used to love that guy! Was so gutted when he left at the end of 96. Always played with a heap of heart.

But I guess Craigie, MacDougall, Hughes, Albert, M Gidley, Grogan, Moodie & Tahu were pretty decent backline replacements over the next few years!

Reminds me of a funny story my 78-year-old mum tells. Back during those years my parents loved a mid-week counter lunch at the Sunnyside Hotel which coincided with the Knights day off. She said they were lovely young men who enjoyed a beer and a punt but she couldn't understand why they needed to go to the bathroom so often and why the player leaving would shake hands with another player on his way in. Oh the good times 😁

Not accusing anyone in particular of anything of course.......after all, even though it's from mum, it's still only hearsay.

From memory we would put 30 points on teams a few weeks in a row with Joey then he would be out for a few weeks and Holbrook came in and we’d get 40 put on us each week until Joey came back.
