I travelled 3.5 hours each way for the privilege of feting the Old Boys live. To say I was disheartened by the effort is an understatement. I haven't even been able to summon the courage to read the match thread until today

Most points have been well covered, but something I noticed from end on was how jittery Hunt was outside Smith in defense. Gagai's experience really helps here because he is better at reading when Smith needs help and when to trust him.
It was obvious from the first try (albeit from a forward pass) they were going to attack our right edge all day, but I didn't think we would capitulate to the inside balls up the middle as easily as we did. Turbo shredded us to be honest.
My other random observation was when McEwen cold dropped the pill when we got a relieving penalty. I was about 20 metres away when Manly scored after the error and Ponga absolutely roared at McEwen whist heading to the huddle. There is no doubt who is in charge these days.
