NRL Round 26 - Knights Vs Warriors - 2:00pm Sunday, 30th of August - Go Media Stadium

Warriors here. This will be a real test for our guys this week. DWZ out and will probably be replaced with Pompey or Lauili, who is a short term contract from the Tigers until he goes to Perth.

Both our teams have done well especially considering the respective injury tolls. I dont know if they will pick Te Maire Martin, hamstrings are risky. We cannot afford to drop a game as we want top 2. If we get that we may not travel again until grand final week if all goes to plan. We have Jackson Ford back soon as well.

Anyhow lads, all the best for the finals

I look forward to the day when we see a game like this and think “great, a chance to measure ourselves against the best and go out there and take it to them”.

Dunno about the players, but people on here just freaking out about it and basically saying to forfeit! Does reflect the mindset of the team, at times, too.

I often think it with reactions to reffing on here too, have a moan, find an excuse. One day we’ll say “throw any setback you can at us, it’s not stopping us”.

Like the good teams do!
Exactly right. Could you imagine if we went to NZ this week and upset them or were in the fight? What that could do for the confidence of the team leading directly into finals....

Adds up to a lot of pressure on the Warriors, will be interesting to see how they handle it! Do get the feeling they’ve been up for a while.

Best of luck anyway from a fellow Kiwi! 😊

We are still on track to play the Cowboys at home. The deciding game will be Rd 27 Rabbits v Roosters. If Roosters rest a whole bunch of players and Souths win, they will come 6th. But if they lose, they'll finish 8th and Cowboys 7th (provided Cowboys win their next 2)
Roosters are still competing for Minor Premiership, that loss against the Tigers was a huge favour to us as they'd have been two points ahead of everyone not in a three way tie.

I don’t think there needs to be any wrist slitting over losing to Manly. Disappointing for sure on Old Boys day but as the coach said they’ve been up for a while and when they’ve lost they’ve only been 2 point losses. Haven’t had a bad once since the Tigers game, that’s a massive improvement on last year.

The Roosters were beaten by the Tigers. **** happens sometimes.

I feel bad for the refs, yeah someone of them aren’t great but they’ve got a boss who changes the rules every year and changes the interpretations of those rules on a whim. I don’t envy them. The touch judges though are horrendously bad and they’ve got a much simpler job. Ultimately, the goal should be to play well enough that the refs are inconsequential.

I don’t know why they wouldn’t still go over to NZ and try to give the best account of themselves. Go over perform well and it could do a lot for their confidence. The Warriors are very good but not unbeatable.

Just because the Knights have overachieved this year according to many, doesn’t mean they should take this year any less seriously or because we lost Lucas and Brown. The opportunity is there now. Next year doesn’t exist yet, who knows what could go wrong then (ask the raiders)

They should absolutely be trying to make the most of this chance while they have it. Anything could happen in the next few weeks. Maybe some bad luck may actually befall the Roosters and Panthers.

If every single team’s supporters blames the ref after a loss then maybe they’re not the problem. 🤷🏻‍♂️

And beyond that, who cares … life throws obstacles at you, you can have a cry, or you can overcome them.
I would just like to say.
It is good to support a team, that are so good at what they do. When they lose it is the referring, that has cost us the game.
It took twenty years but we can say it again.

It won’t happen but just for the sake of curiosity if Gags is out, I would be very interested to see Manuleleua match up against Leka for a game, could be fun

In the great scheme of things, this is one of the least important games of the year.
The only thing that this game has a slight chance of effecting is whether our first final will be at home or away.

The first final game in two weeks is our most important game of the year - or if we win it, our second most important, unless we win the second final, etc etc.
In fact, if we go on a 4 game winning streak - that 4th game will be one we remember for our entire lives.

Eyes on the prize - forget this week.
