NRL Round 20 - Knights Vs Sharks - 6:00pm Friday, 17th of July - Ocean Protect Stadium

Brodie, on the cusp of the end of an NRL career of great but unrealised potential, out of nowhere takes his last shot at redemption and carries the Knights over the Sharks and onwards to a premiership...you could make a great Australian movie about that. Not sure who'd play Brodie, but Bryan Brown as coach Holbrook works. lol
 
Defence is probably where we will need to win it.
I think Smith might not get on the field.
Graham and Cant and Jones and Crouch can all play long minutes and defend really well.
The only starting player I'm worried about in defence is Manuleleua, but he has been improving steadily, and we can always replace him with Cant if he runs out of energy.
Hunt is a better defender than Marz if we have to go that way, but Marz is covered by Best, Sharpe and Lucas, so not a big deal if he plays.

Yep this is the way.

I actually think people are underrating the players the Sharks have out, I don't see them as having the power middles to punish us for not having J Saf, and I think we can cause them heaps of problems if we're relentless in forcing their middles to move sideways, plant, then move the other way. Stop trying to beat them on the outside unless we've generated a lightning fast play the ball over Nicho's corpse.
 
Knights 32-16. You heard it here first. We needed that loss. Emphasis needs to be on completing sets, we cannot keep throwing the ball side to side when it's not working. Our lack of middles hurts, need to use our backrowers leg speed and change of angles, dent the middle more, before spreading to the edges. Would love to see KP and Brown connecting more, near unstoppable when they do. Sharpe back at five eight and Best back will help us.

If the Souths game taught them anything it should be that a giant forward pack has an hr in them max before the holes start to open.

If Knights play expansive football where they actually hang onto the ball they will expose Cronulla. If they try to out-muscle up the middle it will be a bloodbath for Newcastle.

Keep their forwards running and their backs second guessing. Ponga, Sharpe, Brown and Smith need to be spot on tonight and show everyone they aren’t pretenders.
