2025-2026 Summer of Cricket

I have an interesting stat.

For only the 3rd time since Ashes test cricket started in 1877, all Australian batters reached double figures in the current test match, it happened previously in 1947/48 versus India and in 1992 versus Sri Lanka. Australia has played 879 test matches.
Amazed it’s so rare that that happens!

I heard this afternoon that the Australian innings was the only one in test cricket history where all the batsmen scored 13 or more!

.
England have been building up to this series for years and have talked themselves up.

England played well in the first innings of the first test and have then fell away badly. But after six playing days they are 2 nil down in the series and their ashes campaign is hanging by a thread.

Archer’s bowling has been very inconsistent and he currently cannot to be relied on to perform when it counts in test cricket.

Our bowling attack will be stronger with the addition of Cummins and Lyon for Adelaide. This series is looking very one sided now.

Besides Root I reckon their top 5 would struggle running around in The Sydney Grade comp
Brook is a precocious talent, he is able to play some great shots but on this tour he plays a reckless shot not long after and gets out. He could be a great player if he works at eliminating the rash shots from his game.

Jacks may be worth playing for the rest of the series because he put up a good fight in the second innings and he bowls useful spin.

Smith thrives as captain. He left those Poms in a steaming heap when he got after them.
Cummins is a good guy and all, but we really should let Smith do Smith things as captain. We will never see his like again.
