2025-2026 Summer of Cricket

Apart from Starc, Australia’s attack was disappointing. Starc was excellent until he tired during his last spell, it’s too much to expect him to be our main win let taking bowler innings after innings. The other bowlers were inconsistent and didn’t offer enough variety.

The selectors decision not to play Lyon is inexplicable, he would have provided much néeded variety to the attack and bowls well at the Gabba.

Obviously we will need to bat well and look to build a first innings lead. We do have a stronger batting lineup in the match. Game on.

The one positive out of the neser selection is his a handy bat.
The first 2hrs of our batting innings is crucial. Survive the first 20 overs only 1 or 2 down and we are back in the game. Weatherald needs to play the usman role and survive that initial swinging onslaught. Id love to see head go back down to the middle order and have him at the crease after jofras first 2 spells, we dont need a a 4 or 5 an over start we need our batters batting time.

more importantly we need that last wicket straight away, another 8-10 overs of what we saw late last night and the game could very well be gone.

I thought Neser bowled alright and he’s handy with the bat so understand his selection. It seems like they want to use Doggett as an “enforcer” type but he doesn’t have the pace. If they weren’t going to pick Lyon I reckon they needed to pick Webster as he can at least offer a spin option. To only bowl 74 overs in a day is ridiculous

So far, so good for Australia today.

The last English wicket was taken quickly.

It looks as though the English bowling attack was a one innings wonder. They bowled were too short and wide allowing Australia to get off to a flying start.

If we’re 100% honest Lyon would have had zero involvement in that first innings. Time will tell whether we really miss him in the second. Btw before you hate on me I would have picked him. He deserves it. I’m just commenting against the current decision made.

Cameron Green that’s disgraceful. There are no words that can describe how poor that was for your country. Under lights your in and you do that. Bloody hell. Rant over

Very poor play by Green, you can only step away when you see the ball is short. Green needed to keep grinding England out of the game.

It nearly lead to a Carey getting out and may have unsettled Smith.

It’s let England get momentum back.

It’s drop you from the team poor discipline. He’d only faced 50 balls so there’s no tiredness just total poor play.

We have now lost 3/38 to let England back into the game. The result of bad match awareness by Green.

Real battle going on between NZ and West Indies, 531 is the target for WI and they probably won’t get there, but at 319/6 they have a chance of batting out the day.

NZ down to two front line bowlers and a replacement keeper due to injuries throughout the test. Pace bowler Duffy has bowled 32 out of 110 overs in the second innings so far. 😬

The Windies are showing excellent fight to get to 6/365 chasing a seemingly impossible target.

Amazingly England dropped 5 catches yesterday, they only have themselves to blame for trailing in the game. Although Jacks catch was excellent.

The sting has gone out of the England bowling attack. So far, Archer has bowled 20 overs and Stokes 17. If Archer or Stokes get injured, the Australian batters will be excited about batting at Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
