There is no one who's opinion i respect less than Rothfield's.

Until the end of 27 at least, Ponga is our key player. If he is on board with Green, I would be strongly considering this option. Green knows the thinking behind the Brown deal and it sounds like he played a pretty big part in that 23 run. If ths club goes that way, I'll fully understand why.
I’m in a workplace where spoilt ****s get what they want and it’s destroyed the culture of the depot.
When I read Green is who Ponga wants, then it’s a big line through his name for me (not that it matters what I think).
If Ponga was having a crack and looking to try to turn the club around by being up there with the best on the field every game, sure, his wants would be credible. But not after what he’s been serving up. Sounds like the preference of another free ride.

Yes, I fully understand that side of the story too. My confidence in Green is more from the stories around 23. I'm trusting people in and around the club have a better understanding of what Green brings to the table than I do.

If we promote green from attack coach to head coach we can hire a new attack coach so our attack will no longer be the worst in the nrl. Playing chess while everyone else playing checkers.

Well Braith pretty much ruled Peter's out l, saying they don't think they will apply for the role. He made comments about the fact that he is doing well as an actual coach and is having to compete with assistant coachs for the role

I took his comments as he didn't want to interrupt there finals campaign and risk stuffing up there potential to win it which I think is fair enough. Is he worth waiting for till after there season finishes I don't know

If Peters wins the Super League with Hull KR multiple times, it’s realistic that he could be up for one of the biggest jobs eg Souths, maybe even Brisbane, in a few years. So I understand why he’d look at us as a job we’d only consider if he was the only candidate and we absolutely put on a charm offensive.

I’m not bothered by it tbh and I don’t want a guy who doesn’t actually want the job. We saw what happened 2012-14 when we got one of the greatest coaches ever, but under sufferance, coming only for a paycheque. The result was the only club he’s been at where the players were off him by the time he left.

I want the guy who’s excited about being the coach of the Newcastle Knights, specifically. I think that matters for us. I’ve got a mate who’s a Raiders fan who always says, yes there are better coaches than Ricky Stuart, but there’s nobody that’s better for us. We may be seeing what he’s meant by that this year.

Holbrook just makes the most sense and double if we land Sandon.

Holbrook is a great attacking coach while Brian can keep our defence solid, he has a close relationship with Sandon, knows the tricks and combos he likes, knows what he will get out of him, vise versa Smith will know what Holbrook wants.

Just all makes sense for Holbrook

Look, don't get me wrong. I'm one of the ones that want to keep KP 100%. But when the new coach comes in, he needs to kinda put KP back in his place. KP shouldn't be calling the shots and the coach shouldn't be tip toeing around him trying not to rock the boat in case it upsets him and he leaves. I don't even think KP should be part of the leadership group, hes certainly not a captain. I think the new coach should come in and make a game plan around utilizing KP to his games strengths, not around what KP wants. And if he doesn't like it, then he can walk, because its not what is best for the team otherwise.
