Knights Injury and Suspension Updates

weren’t we trash in 2023 looking at missing the finals than suddenly KP decided he felt like playing and grabbed like 20 try assists in his last ten games.
So in 2023 , game before we went n the run we were 14th - 5pts away from 8th.

However we had lost to Penrith in golden point only few weeks earlier, lost to brisbane in brisbane in final 2 mins and already scored 357 points - only 40points less than the first place Penrith and 2nd Brisbane.

So realistically, when half of it was without KP, our attack was much better and we were troubling the best teams just not getting the pie in the end.

So yeah, whilst still 14th we had ourselves quite a solid year and I remember thinking we need that extra polish and we'd be much further up the table.

2023 every member of the spine played over 20 games, ponga gamble hastings and crossland. (brailey went down early i think he only played 2 games that year though) that continuity no doubt was a big reason we looked so good with ball in hand.

So this year! Injuries in the forward pack, at the start of the year. Gamble being the first choice 7 but getting injured. Sharpe learning his role. Ponga I would say overplayed his hand, and then was just out of form, perhaps due to an injury he was playing with. These were the main contributor to a poor season this year. And there was definitely no late comeback with our 3 best players out. Tough year. I hope we don’t get the spoon.

Think Gamble might be injured again with either cheekbone or eye socket fracture
Photo of him yesterday I saw had his face very swollen and not named in NSW cup either

A year to forget for him injury wise .

Think this is his 3rd or 4th injury this year
Photo of Gamble on Gag's instagram. Looks a nasty one. Explains why he didn't have a good 2nd half in NSW Cup. Probably should have gone off HIA. The footy gods have been unfortunately harsh on him.

While it’s not exactly an official injury report, Cooper Johns made a comment on Backstage podcast that he had played golf with Fletcher Sharpe. So nice to know he’s out and about.

After some investigation appears Ponga was there too. Levels networking golf day. Jahrome Luai was the individual winner, FYI.

I know golf is a little different to a game of footy, but promising signs that he should hopefully be good to resume training.

Hard to say without knowing what he actually broke, there's a lot of bones in your foot. Best case scenario could see him back by mid-January. A worse one (like the lisfranc injury Ponga & Lucas both had this season) could wipe out his preseason and likely the early rounds at least.
