NRL Round 13 - Dragons Vs Knights - 8:00pm Friday 30th May - Jubilee Stadium

Gagai even at his age is still very dangerous with a bit of space, still got that ability to move laterally without slowing down.

Aside from in late 2023 you only really see it when Ponga isn’t in the team. Whether it’s AOB or it’s how Kalyn plays, that’s just a basic thing we do wrong consistently. Everything is funnelled to and through Ponga.

Be 15 metres closer to watch McCarthy lose the ball?
Be 15m closer to be an option and make it 3 v 2.

I also thought Brailey butchered that live. But the end on replay shows Sloan jam in and commit to McCarthy and if Hunt was there, Brailey could granny pass it to him and he gets an NRL try.

If the last 3 games are anything to go off, he will be there next time and everytime now. He’s learning quick.

We were probably the better side for the first 20 and the 2nd half and we still lost comfortably. Our bench forwards were diabolical and our depth is only getting worse.

Refs didn’t cost us the game but we are a legit hope in the last 10 if Hunt’s try was rightfully rewarded and Holmes was rightfully sin binned.

Every other rule like this states he either gets put onside or puts himself by getting back behind the play in which he did.
He was actually just going back to dummy half for the play the ball. I don't think he was expecting to receive a pass either.

Sigh. Brailey was forced to go short to McCarthy because Hunt wasn't where he should have been. His only other option was throwing it over the sideline.

At the end of the day, whether it’s 20-6 or 20-12, it’s still another fat L for this club and another game under AOB as coach. Sigh.

This is most concerning. I've written off 2025 so not too angry about getting pumped most weeks, but the squad is going to be worse in 2026 with blokes like Cant getting a bigger role
Yeah, take up drinking and forget next year and hope 27 is better.

KPP could be a superstar if we had halves that could use him properly
Or a coach who could use his talents.
Obi has a happy knack of flogging the natural gifts out of players and to have them playing his bone headed system.
Yes we are short of forward grunt, but we never seem to have a plan b if/when plan an isn’t working.
This is the true definition of bone headed coaching.

From all the contracted players around all of the Australian comps. There has to be better forwards out there than what we have currently. Some better backs aswell. Surely plenty looking for an opportunity. Oh wait I forgot we have aob as coach. Scrap that.

I think unfortunately we've hit the point where we need another clear out and rebuild. We've stuffed this one up. When AOB took over we were perfectly set up to go to the next level but he was (in hindsight) the wrong coach.
