Kalyn Ponga discussion

Dogs want a FB, Roosters want cover for Teddy, Wahs will be in the hunt but don't know if they have the $$

They have chanz there. They have no out and out star. I think we would fit in well there, and would have space in the cap for 2027.

I think he stays next year. 2027 might change.

Roosters. Teddy is done end of 2026 and wouldn't be unlike the roosters to push a player out early.

Roosters prob offer him a job after footy and he retires.

I’d hate to see him at the rooters. Be cool and good for the game if he went to the Wahs. But maybe getting ahead of ourselves. Let’s see how the rest of the year pans out.

Every post about him on social media has a comment about him “coming home” to the Warriors with about 50 likes. Would be a very popular signing with their fanbase.
Bit weird saying come home when he was born and lived in Australia his whole life?

Imagine he turns around and says I want to be here for life, I love this club and want to win a premiership here.

Will people be happy or upset about it?

Who plays for the Māori All Stars every year and then makes himself unavailable for Australia.
He does love his heritage and you cant begrudge that, he has played for Australia (junior kangaroos), embraces qld was born in Australia has lived her most of his life has an Australian passport.

junior rep teams are somewhat meaningless in the case “he played for junior kangaroos” as lots of people play for them and denounce it in favour of other countries.

I believe the ARL are actually destroying the kangaroos in the long run unknowingly by having so many people rep Australia who won’t in the future you are destroying the pathway for the kids that would actually rep Australia in the long run.

Im not saying don’t love your heritage I mean im part South American and proud of it but first and foremost im Aussie through and through, born and raised.

Maybe its just me but if I couldn’t rep the green and gold I wouldn’t want to rep any other team.

I'm beginning to think maybe Ponga is done.

Look at last night, it's representative of his season. He just stands camped out there on the left, waiting to get the ball at second or third receiver, does a little jink which a blind man with mediocre braille skills could read, and then passes.

When he was at his best he was an electric ball runner. He used to pop up in other parts of the field. He actually wanted his hands on the ball.

Maybe Ponga is just reaching the end ... he looks lethargic and out of ideas.
