What makes you so sure he isn’t a half? You’re calling him a winger, his on the record as saying his first game on the wing was in first grade. Sharpe is so young and he is already one of the best players at the club. I will answer your question though, I’ll pick him in the 6 every game he is fit this year.
I’m going off years of playing and watching footy. You can tell by how he plays that he’s not a half.

Give you an example, him and Lachy Galvin is around the same age and experience. He shows he’s got the skills to be half, he’s got a good kicking game and pass selection. I don’t see that in Sharpe.

Yeah, there’s not much worth discussing in this reply. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Will chalk you down as having us doomed in 2026.
Ya don’t like an opinion mate?? I don’t see us getting far next year if Dylan brown and Fletcher Sharpe are in the halves. We need a proper 7 to partner Brown in the halves. Or we will be in the same position we’ve been in for the past 10 years.

Has Hastings earned a call up? Last I saw him in the Reggies (which admittedly was one game a couple of weeks back) he looked pretty average. I'm all for dropping Cogs if there's a clear plan to improve to improve the team next week but if it's a reactionary hit and hope then IDK if that's a sensible way to run the team.
Well don’t whinge about Cogger if you think Hastings isn’t better.

Then we're doomed, because for better or worse they've committed to a spine of KP+Sharpe+Brown+Crossland/Arthur for the next few years.
Yes, that is correct! If we don’t get a decent 7, then we will continue fighting for 8th position and getting beat first round of finals.

There's not much worth discussing because you're just going round in circles and saying the same thing again and again lol.

I'll whinge if I want mate (not that I thought that I was).

I do think Hastings is a better player at his best but he hasn't been at his best, which is kinda the point. Hasting won't be at the club next year and isn't setting the world alight in the Reggies. Your solution doesn't solve anything but would likely not improve morale.

Yeah because you blokes have a cry when anyone says anything about Sharpe, but happy to bag everyone else on here. Is everyone from Cessnock on here lol

Cogger isn’t solving anything either. Put someone in there that will win us games. I’m sick of watching this team getting flogged.

I hear that Harry Potter kid is a Wizard, AOB should pick him...I'm sure that will appeal to fans of magical thinking

We’re 2/4, last night was as tough as circumstances are ever going to get. It’s not all bad my friend. You are definitively saying Sharpe is not a half when the general consensus here and in wider rugby league circles is that our 20 year old five-eighth has been a bright spot.

OK, I have calmed down from last nights game and here is my take.

- If we can defend with that same commitment moving forward in every single game we will be extremely hard to beat for any team.
- Dogs wore us down and got lucky with their first try, it was always going to be an uphill battle for us to jag a win.
- If we didn't cop so many injuries and have players out of position I think the outcome ends up very different, not saying we win but different outcome.
- We desperately need a 7 that can take control of the game, I am talking about variation to the kicking game. We need to be able to adjust on the fly and kick to corners, turn around opposition teams and for the love of all that is holy start contesting these stupid bombs.
- Our attack needs to wake up, we have been pathetic in all games except the dolphins.....we seem to be moving sideways way to much and not enough depth. Players also need to start learning how to be in motion even if they are not the intended recipient of the ball.
- Crossland needs to stop stifling the attack when we are in the red zone with these useless crash plays.
- Crossland needs to get the ball to Ponga when he is calling for it rather than going away from him
- Ponga needs to stop trying to be the halfback.

He didn't have a run yesterday. Four walks though.
