Men State of Origin 2024

Luai probably couldn't have had a better start to life in the 7 over the last two weeks but it would be very bold to throw him into the Blues 7 jersey.

It's a big call but Isaiya Katoa has to be the guy I think.
Big call! I cant agree though. Hes been good but geez big furnace

I agree, but I reckon you need some blokes who have been in big games. It would be bolder to throw Katoa in there.

And I don't like Jarome Luai.

I think Luai has been poor in SOO for the main part because of his ego, His actual work and effort ive seen him score a number of points or set them up for us. Get the best out of him and he will be good. Being the "man" may suit him

Latrell is made for Origin. He's a big moment player, perfectly suited to play centre at this level. We're not talking about him playing fullback. No matter what you think about him, in centre situations, surrounded by quality players feeding him the ball, you'd be insane not to have him there if he's available.

I might be biased but if Best was available I would have had him there. And also with Turbo if he was fit. But Latrell is next cab of the rank for me.

Who we got. Lock in Cricton.
Then Staggs, Raminen, Sualli, Latrell are the front runners. Smokey’s Burton, Tungo, Talaki.
I would have Latrell.

Also on positions. A lot of talk for Edward’s to get that FB spot. I’ve watch him play and he has a great game, but on current form I would still have Teddy there. Edward’s would do a job at fullback but I don’t think he is a potential game breaker like Teddy. He’s the captain and incumbent, you know he will put in 110% effort. I also think with the inexperienced halves he needs to be there.

It’s disappointing that JSaf was not selected, but with him and Gags not playing, it allows us to field a stronger team against the dogs.

Unconfirmed but early mail Maroons squad has David Fifita left out with Jeremiah Nanai and Jaydn Su'a starting in the backrow and Selwyn Cobbo taking a spot on the bench. Not only does Fifita allegedly miss out but Brendan Piakura and Felise Kaufusi are included in the extended squad over him as well.

If this mail is on the mark then it's more insane than anything Freddy did during his tenure so full credit to Billy for upping those stakes.

Nanai getting picked over Fifita is maybe the biggest howler of all, but Madge has made a much larger number of total howlers.

The chat in the press was that he needed a big game today to get in. He only had 20 runs, 235m, 2 try assists, 2 offloads and 2 line break assists.

A decent effort but he simply couldn't compete with Nanai's terrible defence and lack of application. Those are the traits you want in the Origin pressure cooker.

Actually Cobbo not getting a spot anywhere 2-5 is ****ing scandalous too hahaha. Taulagi isn't someone who worries you as an opposing coach. They're trying to out-CTE each other with these selections man.

Looking at game 2 is the 26th. We play the Panthers in round 15 on the 16th. There's a bunch of teams including us and the Panthers next week on a bye during the Origin game week. So will we play Penrith with their origin players out? It's actually not the week right before.
