Men State of Origin 2024

Lomax is a proven putrid centre, has mostly excelled at wing i could not make him a SOO centre. By being at wing he hasnt had the opportunity to make all those rubbish decisions he was making.
Yea I'd take Latrell at centre and Lomax on the wing.

On another note, NSWRL think Suaalii is an Isreal Folau, when he's actually a tall Sione Mata'utia.

Just as a thought exercise, in worst case scenario for NSW and Nicho gets injured or suspended this weekend and can’t play Origin, who is next 7 in the frame. Considering Cleary, Moses, Reynolds all injured? Only eligible ones I can think of with some experience at 7 are Brooks,Townsend or Hastings. Or play a non halfback like Burton , Keary, Walker or Luai.
Scary stuff.

If that were to happen I’d hope they pick Katoa from the Dolphins.

Yep, we are thin on the ground. Even worse, Hastings played for GB in 2019 so he is ineligible.

We're not awarding him a scholarship, we're hiring him for a contract killing.

I wouldn't have him in my club side, but he's one of my first picked for SOO.
Yeah I’ve only not picked him because I’m pretty sure he’d decline to play. He’s still the most unstoppable back in the comp on his day.

1. Dylan Edwards - Those questioning his ball play mustn't have watched Teddy
Neither is good but Teddy’s is better + Teddy’s still a threat to beat his man one on one when they’re not already falling over from exhaustion.

Don’t get me wrong, Edwards is a very good player, and he wouldn’t let the state down in terms of effort if he was picked. But I’ve seen people suggest that not only should he have the inside track, but also if he’s not at fullback we need to fit him in somewhere eg at centre or wing and I just don’t know what to say. He’s not that guy. His best attribute is work rate. An Origin side will be full of high work rate players as a matter of course. Just could not be more convinced he will look thoroughly average at that level.

If he gets his chance, time will tell. I wouldn't pick him anywhere except fullback though. If they pick Teddy, Edwards doesn't make the side.

Luai probably couldn't have had a better start to life in the 7 over the last two weeks but it would be very bold to throw him into the Blues 7 jersey.

It's a big call but Isaiya Katoa has to be the guy I think.
