It's a very understrength Fiji side with 12 under 21 I think they said in the commentary. Kurt Donoughoe has not played in the halves since Flegg for the Knights in 2022 and only got short minutes at hooker for the dolphins. I thought he outplayed Lam and Laybutt.PNG out of their league vs Fiji. Would love to see more respect for Fiji, they are just as competitive against the big three as Tonga and Samoa are, but get nowhere near the same opportunities to play them.
Actually reminding myself of PNG’s results at the World Cup last year they weren’t bad, so it is a surprising scoreline. It's a very understrength Fiji side with 12 under 21 I think they said in the commentary. The commentators seemed to think PNG were clear favourites and Thurston was still saying PNG had the best spine right till the end of the game, despite their spine being clearly outplayed.
Having seen the lacklustre performance Fiji put in last week V Cook Islands I thought they were going to get pumped, but they outplayed PNG across the park.
For a guy with his experience level, he did surprisingly turn the momentum when he came on.I thought Nu Brown had a good game against Aus. He is good at playing what he see's Infront of him (un-structured)
They pulled out of the World Cup last year because they wanted a full off-season, so I guess it's the same this year. Why don't the Twins play for Fiji anymore?
