2023 Internationals

Samoa with a threatening first ten minutes, but the Kiwis go in at their first opportunity.

Yeah get the feeling Samoa could score a few quite easily at some stage.

Sutton trying to explain the downtown rule was definitely a highlight lol.

Leo denied a try due to a NAS obstruction. Not often Thompson crosses the line, would have been amazing to get one on debut for the Kiwis!

Thought it was quite a harsh call, did they penalise him for touching Thompson as he was scoring?

NAS should be penalised every single time he plays the ball. Never seen someone literally never play the ball properly

Samoa back to the form that saw them lose 60-6 vs England to start the World Cup last year. End of their tournament I guess! Not a great way to follow up on a World Cup Final ...

NZ and Australia next week will be good, but it's a dead rubber with the final the week after.

Not a surprise seeing the Kiwis win as convincingly as they did. Samoa lacking in the halves big time. Crichton definitely isn't a 6.

Elsie Albert out for PNG. It's a big boost for Cooks, but not as big a boost as it would have been a couple of years ago. I don't think Elsie has more than 15 good minutes in her now.

Noah Nailagoliva and Kurt Donoughoe are still starting hooker and 5/8 for Fiji.
They last played together in the Flegg grandfinal last year where Kurt played 7 and Noah 14 for the Knights.
Fiji don't have a great forward pack or bench, but their back 5 would be at home in any NRL side.
Kurt and Noah both have great long passes and kicking games. They need to get that ball out to the backs as often as possible.

PNG won the womens v Cooks 28-20.
With a massive home ground advantage to PNG, you'd have to say that's a poor result for them.

30 degrees and 75% humidity. What absolute yuck conditions. Nags only lasted 20. If Fiji hold the ball they'll win but I hope the cookies have a decent go at it.

Nagz came on with about 8 to go and had a couple of runs from dummy half to get them going straight and a quick play the ball and they score the winning try.
He is so unfit though - I suppose he's only had half a game in the last 3 months or so, but if he is to have an NRL career he'll have to stay fit and have a huge pre-season.
Donoughoe had a pretty decent game.
