ROUND 1 - Knights V Warriors - Friday 3 March, 6:00pm - Sky Stadium, Wellington

Probably accurate to be fair. Going to be a tough to get a win away in NZ 1st round.

They also have us near favourites for the spoon.
 
Sportsbet have the Dolphins at $3.20 to get the wooden spoon, the Knights at $5.00, the Warriors at $6.50, the Dragons at $7.00 and the Titans and Tigers at $9.50.

I think Sportsbet are being harsh on the Knights, we are not the second worst team in the comp.
 
Be a tough game. If they’re forwards are on with second phase and pumped up at home. Plus Te Ne Martin back in squad will make them more fluid. W a big game on emphasis on ball control and good contact in D. Put the man down in initial contact. Execute opportunities.

Yeah they’ve got a couple of guys who used to be great - Tohu Harris, Addin Fonua Blake - but the former looks to be past that point now & is in clear decline, and the latter is in premature decline due to Browny forcing him to play through injury which should have kept him off the field. Knees are absolutely farked.

I know there’s a lot of love for Barney on here but he’s never been a really impactful yardage runner - having him start as a first choice prop isn’t something you should feel good about.

You look at that roster and, without Reece Walsh, there really isn’t anyone who scares you. Shaun Johnson can still set up some nice tries but I reckon this is his last season as an NRL player, really started to look off the pace last year…

This kind of **** is why I scoffed at the suggestion the Knights have the worst roster in the comp the other day.
 
Crossland charged for a hip drop tackle on Junior Paulo in trial 2. He just faces a fine.

Junior Paulo is quoted as saying "He tried to tackle me? I didn't notice." (not really)
 
On a positive note, it is only 10 days until the Knights play in Round 1. 😁

We may have something positive to talk about or something different to complain about.
