Tuala hasn’t been awful and you can never question his effort but he doesn’t have the defensive ability to play in the centres, good winger though.

I still can't believe the amount of thrashing this season.
Kinda makes me feel a bit better about our team as we haven't given up 100% and conceded 60 or 70...

Agreed. They must all surpass us either from their attack coaching &/or fitness. Fitness would also explain our many defensive lapses. We looked the goods for 2 games, vlandys should've called the season then?!
Even though we don't look as bad right now as the tigers or warriors, we still had >30 points put on us 10 times this season; 50 by the storm. Not a great stat to own, plus we still have 3 games to go.
I think AOB should feel really lucky due to the late demise of the warriors, titans, dogs & poor ol' tigies!

So what's everyone's opinion at this stage? How long should we give O'Brien? End of season? How many rounds next year? Is it him or the playing group? Heard rumours of him and the playing group not working well together.

I think most people are on the get rid of him boat by this stage but doesn't really matter what we want, Gardener has said he will get another off season, so we are probably stuck with him for next year and how we start next year will really depend on if he keeps his job or not.
I dont think it's all on AOB I think the players have a lot to answer for as well, but I still don't think he is a very good coach and it's harder to clear out a playing group.

Does anyone really think next season will be any different to the last 3? Serious question. Is there anyone on this forum that actually believes next year we will begin attacking with proper shape, speed and purpose? All of a sudden, out of absolutely nowhere after 3 years of the most predictable, low energy and thoughtless attacking football we've seen from any team in the modern era. Despite having made no material improvements to the squad.
Our only real option is to change coaches in search of new ideas. Because the current ideas clearly aren't working, they've taken us backwards.

Well, I'm not sure of our spiralling attack demise being over 3 years but definitely this year. Letting Pearce go without an equivalent replacement, supplemented by a young yet promising 5/8 was the dumbest decision of AOB's career. That decision certainly highlighted his inexperience for me. No top 4 coach would've done that; period.
The only way AOB should (can) stay is if we wrangle a dominating 1/2 that can teach him how we should attack. If we don't, I give AOB 8weeks into 2023 season. Unfortunately, that'll mean another god damned rebuilding media spin by the club.
In my profession, we would rather be proactive rather than reactive. Rip off the band-aid now and we'll duly heal and reinvent ourselves over the off-season. Just sayin'...
