Sack Adam O’Brien

I don’t like the idea of dismissing a coach part way through the season, let his season finish and be judged on performace.
Am not happy with his efforts at this stage and feel he was lucky to get through to final 8 but if we have to change let’s do it after season end
I like what you’re saying, but I don’t think life in footy works that way. You have to sign the best option to take over before another team snavels him and then the current coach knows it’s over for him.
The players won’t put in for him then (not like they are now 🤣), because I don’t think they’re smart enough to understand trying to perform for the outgoing coach will be seen by the incoming coach.
Also, if I was told I wasn’t coming back next year but to finish this year by my boss, on paper I’d look great, but the quality of my work would be less than the cheapest Chinese version

Listo have to disagree a little, don’t see any reason why can’t sign a coach part way through season with him to take over once that season ends,
Also see no reason why the outgoing coach wouldn’t be doing his best to impress by stringing a few wins together, the old stick that up you routine.
As for the players effort/performance should always be there aim for pride sake but also to make them attractive to new coach or another team

Think it becomes untenable in that situation. We tried that with Browny. Tried to respectfully part ways by letting him finish the year off, but ultimately it was just too weird and I think they mutually agreed behind the scenes to finish up immediately, but publicly said it was Browny's decision. Once it's over, it's over.

Just said on Today show Obi is fighting to save his job . Apparently there are performance clauses in his contact ? . Maybe West not so dumb after all . Story prob gain traction through the day . No wonder he arched up last week😀
Surely not?

Browny I can understand because It was the whole rebuild with him.

But you have to remember who AOB's manager Is and that Is Issac Moses.

It would cost and arm and a leg even with the performance contracts In play to see him out the door.

Siebold and the Broncos 2.0

Like I said about his press conference, that’s a coach under pressure.

It would be quite impressive if he got fired considering he hasn’t even really started his new contract yet. The old one ended this year, the extension was for 2025-2027.

The only reason I can think of for why he hasn't been fined is the NRL doesn't want to kick him while he is down.

It doesn’t matter who for at this point.

I was a believer and he got some better performances out of players who underperformed under Browny, but some troubling stuff had started seeping in and now we’ve reached full on disaster.

No more excuses about the inept attack. They have that exact Seibold Broncos look where if it’s not part of a very rigid game plan they don’t know what they should be doing. Add to that an inability to do the basics right and you’re looking at a playing group which has had their heads filled with a lot of overly technical rubbish, unable to think for themselves because they know they’ll get in trouble if they do.

Everything Clifford did last year which we loved so much, he’s not doing it anymore, and the only difference is he’s had a pre-season under our coaching staff. He looked like he was having a meltdown out there today. When do you see that under Bellamy?
Funny how this opening post from 2022 seems very relevant again in 2024.

We have to finish 12th or higher this season to trigger 2027. Says there’s also clauses for 2026, but doesn’t mention what they are.
12th is such a typical standard for the Knights to set.
We finish 5th in 2023, but 12th is the bench mark the following year.

It would be money well spent.

I don’t really understand what people’s expectations are for the season when our play from our halfback has been so poor, our five eighth missed half the season and our 1.4m dollar player missed a large chunk too. Even on the weekend if Gamble doesn’t break, his our on field general at the moment we’re probably more likely to kick a field goal.

Do people think that with the same circumstances John Morris would have us in better shape?
