When you're linking to sites that publish fan submitted content you've lost the argument.
 
Your kidding yourself if you think the Knights have been a top 4 threat in any recent times.

Hopeful we can be, but certainly have not.

Anyway. recruitment....Milford should be arriving soon.

Fair enough but I don't think I have ever seen anyone respected in the media saying we are or have been a top 4 threat.

Slots has a lot more credibility than those articles and I definitely rate his opinion over theirs by a long way, personally.

While I have a lot of respect for Soward, he comes up with some crazy calls a lot of the time.

I don't know man. I just looked through everyone we've lost since Brown took over and the only guys we've lost that we genuinely wanted to keep are Joseph Tapine, Dane Gagai, Connor Watson. Jesse Ramien too if you ignore the clash with the coach. Everyone else are either retirements or we were happy to let go. We've honestly done a good job of keeping the players we want to keep.

Sometimes with some of the performances we've dished up of late, it does feel like the progress has slowed down, that might be what you're feeling. Like, if we go through another coach sacking, or star players start leaving, it will be a definitive blow to the 'rebuild'. But just looking at the cold hard facts, we technically are still improving with back to back finals and as with earlier in the post, have barely lost anyone we actually wanted to keep.
 
I guess it depends on what our intentions are for next year, and I haven’t watched Clune closely enough to really tell how good he is, but it must almost make more sense to have Milford at 14 if we do sign him. If he’s going to the Dolphins in 2023, then we might as well invest in Clune with the hope he becomes a first choice half and we have a bargain for the next few years.

But if we plan to hit the market and get a marquee halfback for 23, then go with Milford this year.
 
Can we attract that big marquee halfback though and what halfbacks are off contract in 2023?

We better get our act together with ball in hand as we are no chance attracting a quality half with the dire attacking football we have been dishing up past seasons.

In which case we're sticking with Clune anyway ... so might as well give him 2022, imo.
 
With what we’ve seen from Adzy as a coach, Milford being individually the more electric talent isn’t gonna elevate him into a starting spot in the halves over a big, strong athlete like Cliffo or a 1%ers guy like Clune. But that jersey 14 feels very likely, sort of operating in that Benji role he played for Souths last year and serving as injury cover if need be. I think he’d likely be Ponga’s replacement during Origin too.
 
Its a hard decission with Millford Clune looks to have played well enough to get the starting spot in game 1 at least and imo no one is taking Cliffords spot in the side the kids too good ..
I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Clifford becomes an exceptional 6 or 7 , so what do you do with Milf some say 14 and he would be good there i think .. but... Do you want someone with his talent not on the field the whole game and he is a talent when he wants to be .
If we made Milf the 14 do we drop Crossland is that the right thing to do if we only have Milf for 1 season, after all the time and money invested in Crossland . Personally i think Crossland is better than is said about him.
 
Milford at 14 definitely offers a different utility value than would Crossland.

I can’t see Milford directly covering for Randall, but would likely slot into lock with Mann switching to 9. Obviously he can cover the halves if one were to go down, and also straight into fullback.

Ponga going down with Crossland as utility would require a pretty decent shuffle, and is not fun to think about.

Mann to F/b and Crossland to 13 thats not really a problem for less than a game if Ponga went down , i dont think.
I reckon Crossland could fill in at F/b if need be for the rest of a game , he has skills, hes' fit and tackles well.

Like I said, I don’t find this fun to think about.
 
2 things Milford should bring for a bargain basement price , if he comes is - 1) competition/pressure for places (good thing) AND 2) a different skill set/option to what we have now (i.e. variety....again, a good thing)

I agree that the half role is Clune's to lose at this point...and I do rate him as a positive acquisition. I'm also a bit meh as to whether Milford ends up here or not but I think it will be a low risk/potentially high return investment that makes good business sense and this club needs to be making those sorts of calls/investments more regularly.
 
When Milford, should we get him, is fully fit and up to speed with our plays and structures, he has to be in the starting 13.
I don't know how long that would take, but he'd not only be in our top 13, but maybe our best if he were playing to his full potential.
 
Tariq Simms has been told he can look for a new club from now pretty much, from what i can remember he played pretty well last season but i could be wrong there .
Not saying we should buy him as his last stint here is still fresh in the memory , but he does have that bit of mongrel in him. George Burges has been overlooked for first grade too even though his hip is supposed to be all good now , him and Jacob coming off the bench replacing Daniel and Klem would be a mouth watering prop rotation .
I have to say though i didn't mind the way Sue was going either .
