Gotta love the it's just a cold group.

When this all kicked off they were bleating their rubbish about how many people die from flu each year, and talk to me when its killing more people than flu etc. Then it did and went around the world, lockdowns etc and they shut up for the majority except the truly stupid consiparcy sickos. Now, we are mostly all vaccinated and therefore having a better run of it, and Omicron seems less severe than Delta they are back beating the BS drum again saying it's only a cold blah blah blah.

And survival of the fittest is a ridiculous position to take. With that attitude we would not help any disabled and just leave them to die!

Survival of the fittest, it's only a cold, until it affects your parter, your child, your parent, you!

Yeah, spare me the survival of the fittest crap as well. In 12 months my wife will be back to fitness, but right now, having just finished 6 months of chemo, her immune system is shot. She's had three shots, but still. We can't afford to get even Omicron atm.

In a perfect world we'd wait to open up till the new antiviral meds are widely available.
From the sound of it, if you start taking the anti-virals in the first few days after you are positive, it works as well as taking anti-biotics for a bacterial infection.
A combination of being triple vaccinated and taking anti virals should turn it into a runny nose for a few days - but we don't get them for a few months I think.
back to the early days of vaccinations - america get them first and we wait till they have more than they can use.

Reports now that Jake Clifford and his wife have covid. Hope the bub is ok. Worse news is that Frank Pritchard is on life support after covid complications. He is 38.

Farrar camp cancelled because a "substantial" number of players have covid.

To be honest - I think if the fit young players are at least double vaccinated and all manage to get a mild dose of Omicron - it might be our best way out of this.
Once they've had it, they've had it, and they can get on with training - hopefully without too many long term effects.

Yeh hopefully if everyone’s had omicron and a booster by April things can just resume as normal with no testing and isolation

They are saying players "who have tested negative" will resume training on Thursday.
If they caught it at Christmas and were diagnosed before New Years - players will be finished lock down by Thursday.
I Imagine "tested negative" includes all the players who have done lockdown and had a negative test, which may well be most of them.
