Ex-Knights Watch

Stumbled across this while looking for something else.
For those that don't remember big Eddy, he was a giant, hard running second rower who came from Melbourne with Nathan Brown in his first year.
He played under 20s and reserve grade and I always wondered why he didn't get a year of firstgrade pre season at least.
The answer is that he got cancer at age 20 according to this.
I think him and Warriors prop Jamayne Tanuoa-Brown joined us at the same time and Eddy was the more impressive.

I always wondered what happened to him. I always thought he had the talent to be an NRL player. Very powerful runner and had good footwork for a big fella.

thanks for posting Billy👍

James Gavet is being released from his Pommy team and is available to join an NRL club before August 1.
I can't remember how good he was for us.

He was really good at not getting penalised for holding down in the ruck, considering he’d lay on them for minutes at a time.

Then one day the refs worked out he was having a nap in the ruck and he got sin binned every game, lol.

How's Sione going over there?

I seen a photo of Sione holding a big trophy. Anyone know what that was?
Edit:

He got suspended the game before the challenge cup final. So he missed out.
They beat Pete Mats team.

Have to admit i liked watching Gavet run flat out at the defensive line with that big smile on his face ..Id give him a year or two on a cheap deal.

He passed away this week.......RIP big fella.

Beau Fermor is becoming a pretty good player for the Titans.

Great try saving tackle this week.
Good try and try assist last week.

He was a very good player for us - top try scorer in under 20s comp and he mostly played 2nd row, and also played a fair few games in reserve grade.
From memory, 17 tries in 17 games of under 20s.
We wanted him to stay, but he said Mal Meninga asked him personally to sign and he didn't even talk to us in the end.
