Toohey's News

Given Sio played most of last year, was our leading try scorer and would make a handy backup to have in reserves, $120k is lowballing him.

I get he isn't going to feature in our 17 if all goes to plan but since when does that ever happen.

I guess we still have Ross, and Denniss if the clubs wants him.

I'd be comfortable with 150 too but any higher than that is overs. They made their offer & stuck with it, so I'm glad, can't be giving in to the demands all the time especially of back up players.

Well to be honest he did offer some crappy performances during the year to match the crappy offer. Dropping the ball when over the line, kick outs on the full from resatarts, poor defensive reads etc.

Aku used to do **** like that all the time. We payed him 500k a year. Was a game breaker but a lousy 120k for Sio is ludicrous.

Ah But Aku also ran over people and ran for length of the field Try's don't think ive seen Sio do that once . I wouldn't have offered sio anymore than that either to be honest .

But for 30k extra you have a very capable fill in. 150K is damn cheap for what he offers. Very solid.

- Knights working overtime to secure fitzgibbon to a long term contract before November 1
- Woolford done deal as is his son Zac Woolford who is a hooker and will be confirmed next week
- Broncos half Dargon is likely to sign if a more experienced half doesnt come on to the market
- James Gavet is apparently on our list of potential targets

If the English translation of that is that we have signed Zac Woolford, that is very exciting. That kid was brilliant for Canberra under 20s. His stats in reserve grade weren't great this year, but it was his first year of seniors and he improved a lot over the season. He was really strong in the last few games and the finals.
He is a big half or a decent sized hooker with a lot of playmaking skills. If he improves his fitness and defence a bit he could be a really good pick up for us.
If Griffin can get Woolford's strength and wrestle up to standard, and we get him a bit fitter, he'll be a better prospect than Starling. I've been a fan of this kid for a long time. I think I've mentioned him as a guy we should be looking at a few times.
