Wanting to spend more time with your family is code for getting tapped on the shoulder and pointed towards the door.
It has been for 50 years that I can remember.
Usually a politics thing.

but Why would they do it with this one then with the assistant coach just say we want to go a different way and even potter said they need to change it up to much whispering and thinking the worst I think by fans

Is this just for 2019 or?.....

Didn't we almost get in trouble last year for not spending the minimum required from the cap?

But considering in 2016-17 we didn't spend anywhere near the full amount under direction by the NRL I guess it's time to take advantage of the good times ahead now.

Guessing we are not allowed to front load Ramien a bit more now so it's easier to keep him later on? heh

Tom Starling still waiting to hear from the club about an offer.

I’m starting to scratch my head at all this depth we’ve got now.

This maybe unpopular but.......starling is to small to be an 80 minute nrl player he def has the skills and talent but playing in the middle at 5” nothing he will always struggle personally I don’t see him as anything but a Reggie’s player

Starling has been playing a fair bit of halfback at times in under 20s and he goes OK at that.
He also plays lock as just a defender really.
He has been playing reserve grade for 2 years - since he was 18 - and plenty of big guys have thought running at him was a good idea and found out they were wrong.
I reckon we've won games because props have run at Starling instead of some of our actual poor defenders.

Segeyaro Is just as small, 169cm

So why would we bother chasing him if his to small also?

We are talking about Lino and Mann as hooker options.
Starling is a million miles ahead of both those guys as a hooker - and a better overall player than both as well.

I'd like to see them give Starling another season, particularly as we'll be without Griffen next year.

Retaining Starling would be way cheaper than signing Segeyaro, the only issue would be his lack of 1st grade experience.

Similarly as the old adage of "if you're good enough you're old enough" relating to playing Origin goes, there's no reason that "if your're good enough your're big enough" can't also ring true.

Yates and Starling are shrimps, shame as they have the hearts of Lions but you can't coach size.

Herald has an article up about young Lachlan Walmsley not being offered a contract despite playing some SG Ball with us I think. He’ll be signing with the Bunnies apparently. Haven’t seen him play but his highlights reel on YouTube look good. Not why we rejected him but he could have been a real find for us.

Walmsley was injured all last year I think, after being in our under 20s squad. In 2018 he was the player of the year in the real NRL I think. He plays fullback, wing and centre from memory. Similar type player to Denniss, Musgove, Gibbs and Andrews, so we didn't give him a run this year.
