Brock Lamb set to leave the Knights

Well Pearce needs a rest, he is playing with a lot of injuries at the moment. Let's not risk him another long term one, let's bring in Lamb and see what he has got and let him play for a contract.

Unless that's what Brownie wants.. to not give him a chance to show he can play better until he signs another contract. I don't think he would do that though.
 
Geez I bet Lamb wish he had these last 6 months over again. Could well be shipped off to England now.
 
Is Lambs form still not right, how has he played over the past month or so, can't judge if can't see due reserves not telecast. It's a pity as his form last year was good, and top player along with Cogger in u20, he also kicks open play and goals. I know he played poorly this season in 1sts but his ability is better than most are crediting. He won't make 1sts here unless injuries but he still would be a handy backup but I think he will leave and as no one is buying here it will most likely be ESL.
 
Lamb has 7 try assists in 9 games and I thought he was not credited with at least another 2 he should have been.
Our reserve grade side had a narrow loss against the top side and a few good wins, including beating second placed Mounties this week. In the other games Lamb has played we have been very competitive, but the team just isn't that good unfortunately.
In short, the team has improved a lot with him in it, and he is back to doing what he does best, setting up tries, but they have only improved from getting flogged to just getting beat most weeks.
 
Cogger is going at end of season, who else, apart from Lamb, do we have as halves backup? Ponga can slot in to the halves but Brown does not want to move him there unless Ponga himself wants to play there.

You would think Lamb's 250k offer is off the table now and no longer an option. No NRL club is chasing him from what I gather, so he either plays here and continues to chase the NRL dream, or he moves to ESL.

He was thrown in to first grade before he was ready, performed better than he probably should have, and now is back in lower grades developing, which is where he should have been. At a decent club Lamb would not have been thrown to the wolves as he has been here.

In my opinion, Lamb needs to eat some humble pie, sign the deal and keep working on his craft. The Knights should sign him simply as he will be cheap, and can be injury cover. If he develops then great, if not let him finish up after the next contract.

Brock Lamb’s future at the Newcastle Knights has been the centre of plenty of conjecture this season following the club’s recruitment of Mitchell Pearce and Connor Watson.

His management rejected an informal one year $250,000 offer from the Knights a couple of games into the season to chase bigger riches and a greater opportunity elsewhere but after he was denied a mid-season release to join Manly, the interest in him dried up with the Eels pulling a $105,000 one year deal a few weeks back.

Languishing for much of the season in NSW Cup and struggling for form, even in that grade, hasn’t help his cause.

But it appears all is not lost for the Maitland Pickers junior

We are hearing the Sydney Roosters, who look like losing Cooper Cronk’s back-up halfback Sean O’Sullivan to the Brisbane Broncos, are now seriously looking at him.

So much so, Roosters coach Trent Robinson has been making subtle inquiries about Lamb behind the scenes. Interestingly, there are those at the Knights who privately believe a change of clubs is in his best interest

Well he has a year to prove that he can replace Cronk at the Roosters. Will be coached by Jason Taylor at the Bears in reserves.
 
Good on Lamb, taking a 100k deal to live in one of the most expensive places on earth and play for norths all year.

What a way to say get stuffed Brown/knights.

Needed to be smarter here the kid, sack thst useless manager! And take 1yr here and play he's guts out and try get a better deal for 2020.
 
As far as I know Wyong are still the feeder club for Roosters and Brock could nearly stay living in Maitland if he spends all year playing for Wyong. It's not much further than Newcastle now it's freeway all the way.
