I said it before I don't think he understands what type of club we are, throwing money at marquee players has never been the Newcastle way. It just doesn't work here ......

Plus It's not up to me to fix the problem, I can't get over how much everyone is defending him our fans Clearly except coming last and not winning games .......
 
So we sack him and move in a new coach. The same problems persist, and he doesn't win enough games. We sack him and move in the next coach, rinse repeat. Maybe we sack Gidley at some point, rinse repeat.

I get what your saying Jaybro, but we are at rock bottom at the moment. We can't go any lower. We must hold our courage and resolve and stick with Browny, or we cement ourselves in last place for a very long time.

As I said I've posted beforenwhat I would have done and I know for a fact you've seen it, but since you seem to have forgotten I'll post it again for you.

I'd do the same thing Penrith and Canberra did when they were down the bottom and no one wanted to go there. Sign players who are looking for an opportunity like Canberra got Austin, Rapana, soliola etc and Penrith got Whare, Soward, Wallace etc. These players will improve the squad and put the side into a position where they are competitive whilst also bringing through the younger players like Moylan, Cartwright, Cleary, Wighton, Boyd, Cotric etc. Once the squad is competitive marquee players will be more interested in coming to the club like BJ, Junior Paulo, Merrin, Tamou etc .....
 
No thoughts on the rumour re. James Roberts? I'm not a fan of the man himself but don't mind him as a player. No more suspect in defence than Gagai.

was their cap situation as bad as ours though? this time last year we didnt have any cap space. So he had to get us in a position to make any signings which he has done.
he brought in players to improve the squad ie barnett buhrer kostjacyn who arent marquee signings but definatly make us more competitive and you could say more attractive to other players, but its out of his control those blokes are on the sidelines.

Not a bad idea.

That's a bit more money ball than just going for marquee players.

So which players do you think we should target next?

Not sure about Canberra's but Penrith's was a mess, that's why they pushed out Lewis and paid half of Jennings deal for him to play for Roosters .....
 
It's a bit late now because a lot of those type of players have been signed already. I really though we should have a crack at Kikau and CHN from Penrith, Alex Glenn, Joe Ofahengaue, Paasi, Asiata etc

Look I'm not sure maybe we did inquire and they weren't interested but again it's still the responsibility of the coach to get these guys interested......

CHN will either Re-Sign with Panthers (He is wasted there as he needs to start) or go to Sharks.

Ever been that fed up with the Club you've tried to stop following them ? No matter how bad things are and how filthy I get I always look forward to the next game with a little optimism. As of now I'm thinking we'll beat the Raiders tomorrow and after I finish the last 3 in the carton I'll be certain of it.

I think we should only pay overs for a marquee.

We have already signed some average players on average contracts. We can sign more. But we need to be patient.

we have offered gagai 2.6mil over 4 years according to toohey. souths have given him a bigger offer, but gagai is still weighing up the lifestyle change with his family. also says we wont get into a bidding war over him and that browny is confident the player market is still going to open up with high profile players to be forced out of clubs.
 
Reynolds gone to tigers and looks like Kas to storm and Eastwood to Tigers. Hopa & Lichaa likely let go, looking less likely Tolman or Graham will be released.....
