2017/2018 Knights Player signing speculation

If we are not including Gagai and Mullen (not yet signed), we still have nearly half of our 2018 not spent i'd say. We could basically add 5 players of rep standard - or 3 real marquee signings.
Young blokes like Lamb, the twins, Ponga and even Barnett, King, Sione etc will all be a hell of a lot better in 2018.

If you look at the off-contract forwards there isn't a great deal of talent left. I have faith in Browny and Mooney but time flies though in the rugby league world. Four players I'd love to see in the red and blue who are all off-contract are: Aaron Woods, Kane Evans, Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Charlie Gubb. All big bodies that would thrive in our pack IMO.

If we were allegedly prepared to offer Scott $7/800,000, Vaughan was worth $700,000. He is reasonably young, strong and highly motivated and a natural leader. His game Sunday was brilliant.
Agree with all Vaughan except for Leader part, nothing about him shows that.

Well for mine we will have Ponga, Hughes is coming through to fill one centre psotion, we are allegedly in the market for Bird, but if reports are true he wants to play FB exclusively, he will go elsewhere. What concerns me there are not even any whispers about props where we are really short. Time will tell but I have confidence in Mooney and Brown. I would rather sign a top front rower than make do with a Prior etc. I am still disappointed we did not head hunt Paul Vaughan big time. He must have been so frustrated with tricky playing his ..... well tricks with his career.
Ive read a few things that say Bird Wants to play 5/8 and I read 1 thing that said Lamb is pissed at the club for chasing Bird for the 5/8 spot ....

Evans Woods yes... not sure about Asofa and Gubb.. although id still take them on our roster atm

We all know the lurker makes stuff up just based on his assumptions.

Lamb is still young and would learn a lot from Bird.

If I had the first grade spot and was touted as one of the coaches favourites and then the club started chasing a million dollar player to play my position id be a bit pissed off and worried ....

Id have my manager looking around to see whats out there... why be loyal in todays game!

No rumor we've even approached these guys, makes me wonder.

MATULINO TO LEAVE WARRIORS?

Experienced prop Ben Matulino could be set to leave the Warriors, according to NRL 360 host Paul Kent.

Matulino, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury, is one of a number of off-contract forwards at the club including Jacob Lillyman, Charlie Gubb, Ryan Hoffman, Bodene Thompson and Albert Vete.

Go and w atch Sunday's game Scaleybugs! He was outstanding and deserved 'Man of the Match' leading the Dragons forward pack. He and another Knights 'escapee' Packer are dominating and the main reason for the Dragons good form.

Ethan that may well be a great thing going on Friday night's performance. All our forwards were simply dominated by the Pennies and Sione in the centres had a shocker. Think he has got a little too comfortable hiding away in the pigs.

Article in the Herald implies that Bird might make his decision based on how well we play against the Sharks - or he won't join us if we are still crap to put it another way.

I really hope the boys bounce back this week, not expecting a win, but a more complete performance!
If the players see it the same as you, it will add even a little more incentive to perform well.
At least it doesn't look like he has completely ruled us out, which is a step in the right direction!

He has a lot to learn still...

Though ive stated many many times already that his started great in any position be it wing fullback centre and backrow but has always slipped away from those hights he started with in every position.... its a trend all the Mata'utia brothers have shown... Pete being a bit older has started to grow out of it!!

Hopefully Sione does to as he is a very talented footballer.

Poor @Kenny Powers would be seething at this comment lol
