I know I'm like a dog with a bone but I just read today's fluff piece in The Herald about Newpave which was completely devoid of any evidence or fact checking and it has set me off again. I've gone searching for more information and found a website for this Newpave mob, albeit just a logo.

The registration records for newpave.com reveal it is owned by a Newcastle Equipment Pty Limited from Lake Munmorah. So now we have a business operating out of a residential home on either side of Lake Macquarie.

Like Newpave a Google search for Newcastle Equipment Pty Limited reveals next to no information. Just a link back to the newpave.com registration and an entry on a creditor watch website reselling ASIC data.

This ASIC website is down for maintenance so I can't search for details on Newcastle Equipment Pty Limited there but the Australian Business Register indicates Newcastle Equipment Pty Limited is just over a year old.

What on earth do any of these companies do? And where are they getting money their money from? I hope the Knights have been paid upfront.

Yeah I find it very odd also, but from my understanding the nrl would've checked this company out and should've been really careful of how the whole deal went down due to the thinkler crap.

It's a one year deal with options, so if they paid up front, I don't care if they go broke tomorrow, or even if they don't exist at all and it's just some "white knight" chucking us a few dollars.
If it were a 10 year deal i'd care how solid a company they are, but a one off, couldn't give a stuff.
 
i still think white colour always looks better, but im starting to really like the red collor, doesn't really stand out but i like it.
 
Does anyone know what the deal is with the Rise for Alex spot? I assume we're not getting any money for that ... and if we find a sponsor then it will be gone (same thing happened with Ronald McDonald House in 2012, they were on our sleeve until midway through the season when nib moved back there).

Surely there must be some company out there that wants a spot somewhere on the back of our jersey ... I wonder what Matt Gidley is doing about it.
