Like most of what he says, he backtracks the moment it suits him.
 
If he has any decency left, he will step aside & give Rick a chance to argue his case.
To all that wanted Ben Hunt, you can probably kiss that dream goodbye, if Wayne wanted him here, he won't let him leave there
 
When Bennett goes Broncos obviously Boyd following they'll have 3 fullbacks at the club; Boyd, Barba & Hoffman! Assuming Boyd moves to 5/8 partnering Hunt that'll leave Hoffman way down the pecking order!
Look to sign Hoffman?

Poor broncos, have some of the best young talent rugby league can offer Milford, Barba, Hoffman, hunt, McCullough, Oates and he's gonna stuff up a good young team putting all old fellas in like he did knights

I disagree would do more harm then good leaving at this stage of the game, aside from horrific floggings where better off just going through the motions and getting through this years and cut all ties politely at October 31st.

Any bickering and BS will cause way more harm then good.
 
It's also worth pointing out that Corey Parker, Justin Hodges and Josh McGuire have all publicly backed Griffin in the last week

The common theme is Wayne was the Broncos past not their future
 
Hopefully we hold off until we know what's happening with Dr Koukash. He has the capabilities of either attracting a top coach or if we do go down the Brennan/Stone path, Koukash would also be keen to talk with them, get on the same page and use his cash and a few other persuasions to maybe attract some good players that the new coach wants. I'd prefer to wait as long as it takes to get all the right people at the club to give us the best chance to turn this **** around than rush it and go back to being the NRL's battlers where almost good enough is good enough.
 
Bennett should leave the Knights now if he has already agreed to join the Broncos next year

Now that he has decided to join the Brisbane Broncos, Wayne Bennett should leave the Newcastle Knights NOW.

This club needs a man in charge who will be there next year.

In any other business, a boss who is leaving to join a rival company would be shown the door straight away.

Every other club in the NRL has been planning recruitment for 2015 for months.

The Knights have the oldest roster in the premiership.

They are running 14th on the table and need a major overhaul.

This club is in much worse shape than when Rick Stone handed over at the end of 2011, a young coach on just $200,000-a-year, a fifth of Bennett’s salary.

Under Stone, the Knights finished the season in eighth position, just one win away from fourth spot.

If he comes back next year he will have to start all over again.The Bennett signings were just about all about short-term success.

You don’t bring in Jeremy Smith, Willie Mason, Craig Gower, Timana Tahu and Clint Newton to win premierships down the track.It’s now time to start preparing for 2015 and beyond.

I remember back in 2001 a strapping young centre, Justin Hodges, emerged under Bennett as the next big thing at the Broncos

He signed a three-year deal with the Roosters.

Bennett not only sacked him from first grade but sent him to the Toowoomba Clydesdales for the remainder of the year.

He was no longer part of their plans. The same as Bennett is no longer part of the Knights plans.

The seven-time premier coach rang News Corp boss Lachlan Murdoch on Sunday and told him he wanted to return home to the Broncos.

This all happened behind the scenes on Alex McKinnon’s big day.

The phone call clinched the deal.

And so the premiership he hoped to deliver Newcastle didn’t eventuate.

He has nothing else to do in Newcastle apart from clearing out his office.

And that should happen today.

So while the NRL community as whole were rising for Alex Bennett was on the blower organizing his next gig ? Class act Bennett. Z class that is.

"Rise for Bennett day" Lachlan Murdoch and newscorp will make Bennett's return to the broncos seem like the second coming of Jesus and not the fact he screwing over the knights and Anthony griffin.---that really grinds my grears..
 
I hate Phil, but he really did write the feeling of many of us right now. I don't like this act of showing sympathy for a group of guys and a young bloke going through a lot but at the same time be able to just get up, walk out and leave. I expected him to leave at the end of the four years. I was fine with that - Success or not.

I'm not fine with this.

I hope he fails, and may the worst of seasons dawn on you at your home, Brisbane. As you have ruined ours.
