Confirmed: Knights sign Mason for 2012 season

You can't believe anything in this Mason drama, for the last 3 months he's been linked to everyone & we were all gonna find out where he went in the 'next week'. :lol:

But if it is so, pretty good signing for $40k & match payments.
 
Let's face it - we need bigger forwards and at that price it's awesome. He will be back home.

One can only hope in his contract is a clause to get rid of his twitter account and public interviews.
 
Knights werent good enough for him in 2010, not a "top premiership contender". Funny what having no clubs wanting you does, similar story with Tahu too. Wouldnt have touched Newcastle with a 10 foot poll if they had other options.
 
Let's be honest no high profile or any real class of a player would have touched the Knights before Tinkler took over.

That's all it's ever been about.
 
Not really going to be happy with this if it happens, find it surprising he would just walk into the side with the comments about Bennetts frustration up front just relying on Snowy. Personally I've been happy with Ritchie up front, and I reckon Costigan can become a prop if needed in place of Cuthbo.

My other reason for not wanting them then or now.
Makes it sweeter we finished higher then the Cowboys that year too! :D

Good signing, he was great for the Bulldogs and I thought he was good for the Cowboys in his season there, he adds abit of much needed aggression.

Really?? Aggression?? Don't get stupidity confused with aggression! Never saw him bend,let alone break the line when he played for the Cows. Just the role model we don't need in Newcastle for our young blokes, same with Laurie...is Newy becoming a dumping ground for wayward forwards?? Use the locals first, that was the promise from Tinkler.

Mason is a local, grew up in Toronto, played lower grades for Hunter Mariners.

Except Tahu had wanted to rejoin us ever since he left union.

Not a fan of Mason, he's past it and I'd rather he wasn't at the club. Oh well, if he's in red and blue, I'll cheer him on.

Reported on Southern Cross News this morning 6am he is to sign today so looks like it is a fact.
 
i think this Is going To be one of those signings people Are gonna hate but at the end of the Year people will want him signed longer! He has been training hard Is fit And fired up. He wont get away with acting silly In newcastle And will be playing for his future. Im excited
 
I know we need forwards but really? He hasn't earned his stripes in my opinion, If he was with us from start and did a full preseason with us it would be fine, but to stroll in at rd8 and potentially take another position is just wrong in everyway, what if he takes faaoso's position would you be happy? Tetevano still deserves a go to. Not cool
 
I doubt he is going to just plain and simple walk in, Im hearing he will play NSW cup for a while to get match fitness. He will be fit though he has been training with trent langlands.
