Confirmed: Knights sign Boyd for four years

TBH i dont see why everyone thinks gids is a 'terrible' half, ill admit hes not at the standard of others, and isnt as good at it as he it at fullback, but he is not absolutely woeful and he's better than other halves in the NRL

I'm mates with his cousin. Really nice bloke, comes down to Newcastle a fair bit. I'd really like him to come, but we have more than capable second-rowers.

Sharks... Why don't they just buy all the s***ter players, not just half of all.

This seams so surreal.

It almost puts tears in my eyes. After so many years of being a struggling club, then all of a sudden Mr Tinlker comes in and brings the best coach in the game, one of the best props and one of the best fullbacks.

Loving it :)

I think you will find the hooker will be adams next year
this is how i think we will line up. having gidley at hooker will be such a waste i would love to see him at 5/8 at the expense of henry who i think is an awesome player i played alot of football with him during school but having gidley at 5/8 is whats best for the team let him earn his postion for next year dont just say his only 5 games into his career i think the great players like marshell and lockyer have proved themselves by taking contral of the game.

Really the only plausible thing to do, and its pretty much the only thing that can and will happen seeing as they dont want de gois. Gidley creates chances in attack, and his presence can be felt up front in defence.

He is not "terrible",but he isnt great,he just hasnt got the experiance others do...look at orford,he is a specialist half back and he for a lack of a better word "terrible"
I really do think that Kurt would better at #9 rather than being in the halves,I think his runs from dummy half would be much better then his sideways running tryng to be the playmaker...

Sideways running is effective, it opens up gaps and Gidley is smart enough to know that it does so and thats why he does it.

yeah its very effective but some how he isnt very effective at it...I think thats more to do with the fact that the rest of the team now how to run into the gaps.

I never thought i'd see the day when Gids was moved to hooker permanently. I guess we'll see that next year. Boyd will add alot to the team, i am so freakin excited for next year, can't wait till 1st of November, the day when Wayne arrives & a new era begins.
 
Looking at the Knights facebook page and the reaction to Boyd's signing, it pains me to see how ignorant and plain stupid a majority of Knight's fans are.
Anyone arguing that we shouldn't have signed Boyd, or that Costigan was a waste of money (there's a few of them!) needs to wake up.
Fortunately, the internet seems to have implemented a magic filter that keeps most of those stupid people away from this forum:lol:

It would be interesting to see how much Darius is on. I can understand why people are saying Boyd is a waste of money because we have enough backs especially with the juniors coming through.

Costigan a waste of money?!
 
Fantastic signing and a big well done to the club for getting him here.

Can't believe how far we have gone to getting Snowy, Darius, Tahu and Benny to the club, our future looks very bright indeed!

As for where Gids will play, IMO it has to be from either 7 or 9.
