Myles signs with Titans

Massive dissapointment i was getting really excited about having the best forward pack in the comp for next year and now thats gone :(

Im sick of all the big name players rejecting our offers thats Idris and Myles now. And i dont think it will ever change.

Well if we can pull off Boyd, I'm sure we could be title contenders next year if not in the near future. Even though we're trying to get back Newcastle juniors, Kade Snowden is still a pretty good Marquee signing. Unluckily we didn't get Myles, but if we get our hands on Boyd, we are a good enough chance of the finals.

Our problem has always been our defence though. It's rare for the Knights to grind out tough wins purely though our defensive efforts. Snowden goes no where to solving this problem. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled with his signing and he will help us making yards up the middle of the field, but blind freddy could see that he's not the greatest defender in the world, especially laterally. Boyd won't fix this problem either.
The best positive I can think of is that maybe Rick Stone is our worst defender, and Wayne Bennett can fix our gaping problems.
 
Bummer we missed out on Myles!!!

So we're getting rid of Patto and Taia's not a certainty to regain his form so we must be looking for someone else???

Gee stop complaining about how we cant attract big name players. And you're kidding if you say nothing has changed because things have changed! We may not be able to sign some big stars for next season but you know what? Wayne is here for 4 years and we may not win a premiership in 2012 but when we start performing well next year, more players will want to play for us.
 
Considering the Myles interest came out of the blue I am not that fussed about it, but it would have been a nice signing
Least the Titans are out of contention for any other big names atm heh.
 
You've got to start to wonder what is really going on here. We're making all this room in the cap and for what reason? Fair enough if we were signing several star players but at most we'll be lucky to get two now (Boyd and Snowden) so why else? If we're looking to make space for guys with potential why are we letting go of Paterson and most likely De Gois? Where's all this money going to go, depth? Because we've already got plenty of depth as it is... I just want to know what direction the team is heading in next year. If we miss out on Boyd then I think we're truly f'd.

Does anyone know what happening with Adam Blair and the Tigers? He would be a good buy IMO but i heard he is close to signing with the Tigers?

^ Well I'm thinking Bennett doesnt think he can get the best out of Pato hence why hes releasing him.

With Buderus maybe coming back we may not need De Gois but you know there is every possibility he might stay. And why are we screwed if we don't get Boyd?! I dont even know where I would play him in the team honestly!

A player doesn't sign with us and all of a sudden it's the end of the world.

Myles wanted to go home, so what? His choice, his loss.

We have Wayne Bennett. Who brings the best out of players you'd least expect it out of. Who is the greatest coach of all time, and yet people are still having a sook every 20 minutes about things not going our way. May I remind half of you the position we were in last year?

- Rookie coach
- Financially broke and in debt
- CEO giving blokes like Paterson 300k
- 5000 members
- Mullen inconsistent

As opposed to now:

- Richest club in the league
- Bought our best local back in Snowden
- Up to 12,000 members
- Convinced Wayne Bennett of all people to be apart of this transition
- Had Myles & Idris discuss and meet with the Knights (players in the past wouldn't have even bothered to make the trip up)
- Sorting out the salary cap the right way
- Cleaning out the players every week we have a whinge about

Our juniors coming through are some of the best in the league. What better coach to bring them through than Bennett.

And the whole promise of keeping junior talent will stay.

Look at St George. Merrin, Prior, Rein, Stanley all coming through.

Cant believe people are having their doubts after a guy knocks us back. Titans in the end might have offered him more money, we most likely offered him what we thought he was worth. Media talks and hypes things up!

Memo to people, don't get your hopes up so quickly on here.

Let's just move on!
 
Is it just me, or are the Titans spending a ****load this year?

People were saying how we look suss as a club in another thread - obviously they didn't look at the Titans :lol:

Salary Cap auditors going to be all up in their grill next year for sure.
 
They've lost Mat Rogers, Friend, Laffranchi, Meyers in the past two years and haven't really gained anyone (Capewell & Michaels) apart from now. I still think they should be sweet.

Think I read a couple of days ago Bailey took a paycut for the next two seasons to wind down his career.

Another major signing and it would begin to ring alarm bells though for sure.

Think they're finished with recruitment now though.
