2011 NRL Player Rumours & Signings

If Vuna leaves, doubt we'd sign a replacement. Uate, McManus, K.Naiqama, Lulia, W.Naiqama and more.

Thurston isnt worth the money, Keating wont go where he isnt guarenteed the starting job (would be a decent signing though), Tolman would be a great buy. O'Donnell wouldnt be worth the money this late in his career (plus good secondrowers are everywhere these days), No to Growthe for the same reason as no Carney (plus he is an ego we dont need).

All in All, Tolman is the only signing on your list id be happy about. But cant see Melbourne letting him go. Keating would be decent, would like to see more of him though.
 
Looking at the list, what are peoples thoughts on Ben Hunt? havent seen him play much as ive never watched an NYC game on TV. Could be be a long term solution at Halfback, or is more a 5/8?

As Brisbane have Wallace and Tim Smith as a possible halves combo for many years after lockyer retires, would it be wise to make a decent play at Hunt? would he work well with Mullen?
 
Tolman is a great prop and would be a great signing, but no way is he better then Cross.

When fit, Cross is the best prop in the game.
 
Ben hunt of what i have seen is good, would be worth a shot.
I dont no about kris keating i believe scotty dureau is better.

Yeh he does seem to like the place.

But Uate/Macmanus/Vuna, isnt room for all three when fit. Uate is in a contract till 2013 so the club isnt going to give up on him any time soon, and he showed some great signs last night. MacManus is an Origin Winger, safe as houses, so I dont think the club will let him go any time soon.

So unless Macmanus or Vuna makes the move to centre for Maddog, or Vuna moves into a backrow sort of position off the bench, I dont think he will be guarenteed a longterm position in the top 17. Might prefer to go to another club where he is guarenteed a starting spot. Lets hope it all pans out well though, and he can stay with us.
 
Madness, even on last night, which was one of Uate's best performances in the NRL, you'd have to say Vuna outplayed him and I'd take him in the side any day of the week.

Both scored tries from nothing, Uate from the step and Vuna from the bomb, but Uate rushing up into no-man's land to concede a try was shocking defence.
 
Vuna is a gun, he's the best winger out of the lot.

My bet is Vuna will play centre for when Mad Dog retires.
 
Not doubting Vunas ability, just cant see the club giving up on a player who is under contract the longest out of anyone on the team. You dont make that kinda investment with raw talent and not give them time to develope.

Just saying at Full strength, Vuna will have to find another position on the team if he wants a guarenteed spot. We are really spoiled for talent in some positons on this team, this is one of them.
 
You don't just play a guy in first grade because he's got a long contract though? Who is the best winger right now out of Vuna and Uate? I say Vuna, so he deserves the spot.

Id say Vuna too, im talking about in future years though, If cooper gets really good offers from other clubs, I doubt the club will match it, unless they have other plans for one of our 3 wingers. Vuna has had interest from other clubs already, so I dont think its out of question he gets some good offers. The roosters will need a replacement for Minichiello, and B.Smith gave him a shot in FG back in 07

ive heard knights are interested in him. He was just sacked from the dogs so maybe the knights will sign him this week or next? I hope not IMO we don't need him
