Jetstar Gold Coast Titans five-eighth Mat Rogers will miss Monday night's clash against Newcastle at Skilled Park after accepting an early guilty plea to a contrary conduct charge.
The charge, combined with carryover points from a previous offence, means Rogers will miss one match.

HILDER RETURNS TO FACE TITANS

Utility, Matt Hilder returns to the Newcastle line up for this Monday’s Round 22 clash against his former club, when the Knights set out to secure their top eight berth against the Titans.

Hilder broke his thumb in Newcastle’s Round 16 loss to the Sea Eagles on the Central Coast but will make his comeback on Monday night at Skilled Stadium.

Coach Brian Smith has named a 20 man squad to travel to Queensland featuring an unchanged backline with Jarrod Mullen and Scott Dureau to continue their partnership at the scrum base.

Daniel Tolar, Danny Buderus and Matt White head up a slightly shuffled forward pack to accommodate the loss of dynamic back rower, Zeb Taia. Scans today confirmed a Grade 2 Media Ligament injury to Taia. He’s expected to spend between four to six weeks on the sideline.

Chris Houston has been named at lock in the starting line up with Hilder, Cameron Ciraldo, Richard Fa’aoso and Mark Taufua making up the Interchange.

Cooper Vuna, Marvin Karawana and prop, Danny Wicks have been announced on an extended bench.

Hilders been fantastic for us, as has Zeb, I guess his luck had to run out sooner or later, and he could probably do with the break, back in time refreshed and recharged for the finals.
 
Gold Coast have named a good team. They lose Rogers but gain Minichiello & Friend back.

I don't see us winning this one tbh, will be interesting to see how many Knights fans are at Skilled too.

maybe monday night games have become our specialty. have faith AK, we CAN win this one.

they've lost their 5/8 and half back. Its pretty hard to get the pack moving forward without them even though Titans are capable of doing so.

They seem to play well at Skilled Pk. Thats my worry, most of all. Other than that we have them covered easy! :p
