2009 NRL Player Rumours & Signings

Josh Lewis > Tigers (Confirmed)

The Wests Tigers has completed the signing of talented five-eighth/half-back Josh Lewis for the 2009 season.

A former Balmain junior, the 22-year-old will join Wests from the Gold Coast Titans.

Lewis first made his debut for the Sydney Roosters in 2006, and has played lower grades with St George-Illawarra and the Roosters.

Lewis joined the Titans halfway through last season, but struggled to make an impact with Scott Prince and Mat Rogers ahead of him in the pecking order.

"Josh is a talented young ball player with plenty of skills,"’ said Wests Tigers Recruitment Manager Warren McDonnell

"He has a great kicking game and will provide good back up support for our main halves."

That must mean Benji will switch to 7 and Head is off to the Warriors.

Head will be useless at the warriors i think. dont they already have Ropati, Witt and Fein all contracted still? all of them are better IMO

It's Rovelli who they are looking to replace. He is a garbage half back.

Also when Wade McKinnon comes back they will have Hohaia.

Head would be a good buy, prolly the best since Stacey Jones.

Fien remember played halfback for the cowboys premiership run in 2004. I would have him back playing there anyday over Head

Fien and Witt are decent, but Rovelli has been struggling. Head would be a big improvement for them.

IMO, Fien's more of a hooker, and both Witt and Rovelli are crap.

I don't necessarily rate Head all that highly, though he's certainly an upgrade over the 3 of them in the halves IMO.

Nah, Witt is a pretty good five eighth. Strong runner of the ball, good kicking game, and the benefit of his goal kicking can't be underestimated. Virtually every try becomes six points, he is easily the best in the comp.

Great goal kicker, just don't rate him as a player at all.

yeh Witt was better at parra in terms of ballplaying ability. His kickings improved out of sight with the warriors.
