Your team Vs The Storm

We have 3 top 2nd rowers for 2 positions, all 3 are capable of playing strong 80 mins.
We have a good performing backline in Cup but no one showing enough to push up into Bests spot, Maps didn’t do so well.
Play KPP and Friz 11 & 12 with Lucas in Bests spot, seems to make sense to me

If Armstrong has another shocker, I wouldn't have an issue with Sharpe getting a go.

David definitely deserves one more shot though.

It’s the way we lost the last game that has concerned me. Some of the players appeared not to be trying to play as well as they can.

We lost to an under strength Bulldogs side at home by 30 points.

I think players like Marzhew and Hastings need to time in reserve grade to regain confidence or to sort out their issues.

I partially agree. Like Armstrong and Maps deserve another chance. Cogger and Marzhew I’m leaning towards back to cup for both of them. Mainly Cogger. We need Phonix in 6 and Pryce/Sharpe/Reilly on the bench.
 
Talking of Marz - was Armstrong getting into the corner when kicks went up so Marz wasn't getting targeted as much.

I can't watch the game again to make sure (don't want to) but my feeling is that Armstrong was under those kicks into the left corner this week, and handled them pretty well.

Voldy has issues with his game as well but it’s no longer our problem.

Marzhew is making costly errors in attack and defence. We can’t afford to drop because his carries out of our end are vital particularly without Best. He needs to get the mistakes out of his game though.

Likewise, the way we lost is the biggest concern.

For me Hastings needs to go, he has been pretty bad in nearly every game he has played this year and was even worse in the dogs game.
 
I’m hoping @Junior_rep has been at training today or had ears to the ground and can give us some sort of glimmer of hope about how the teams looking like shaping up for the weekend.
 
Without Marzhew we only have Gags left to take tough carries while Best is out.

Tuala averages 138m a game, with 30 of those coming from kick returns. Those numbers are heavily supported by the 5 games he had at the beginning of the season where he was playing on the left outside KP making linebreaks for fun.

Marzhew averages 178m a game, with 35 of those coming from kick returns. Greg only has the 1 linebreak to his name, the rest are just tough carries on play 1 or 2 straight into the teeth of opposition pack.

If you drop Greg you're putting that load on Tuala, who doesn't like taking those tough carries (and is much less effective) so this load will then be translated to the pack, sapping energy from them which will place further pressure on our defensive systems.

Absolutely he needs to get his errors under control, no doubt about that. We also need a plan for when teams target him in the air - more teams should do it but they don't for whatever reason. Otherwise defensively he is no worse than the bloke on the other wing.

Ultimately it makes no sense to drop Marzhew when he's still our most important winger, we're not losing games on the wings at this stage.
 
If all we have to replace Marzhew is, Armstrong, Moceidreke, Jenkins, McCarthy, Myers then his position is safe, best of those mentioned is probably Moce who is left wing in Cup, not fussed on the rest.
Imagine Mapa at centre with Armstrong his wingman better to get Marzhew to limit his mistakes
