Your team v Broncos

Jake and Mitch probably more likely to miss a target and end up suspended than the next bloke, maybe.
I think they probably actually need a rest. Barnett hasn't missed a game, Jake only missed 1 & been leading from the front every week in the middle of the field.

I know they’ll want to work on combinations but this would be an ideal time to give Hodgson a debut. No pressure against a weak opponent.

1 Ponga
2 Hunt
3 Mann
4 Best
5 Tuala
6 Clifford
7 Pearce
8 Sue
9 Brailey
10 Klemmer
11 Frizell
12 Jones
13 Watson

14 Randall
15 King
16 Momoisea
17 Saulo

I’d start Jirah in the middle. Looks to have high potential to me. See what you have there against a pretty fair test in Haas.

Not a big fan
Says O'Brien plans to rest Jake Saifiti and Mitch Barnett, but no one else because Pearce Ponga and Brailey have all recently had time off.
Also says he would be tempted to play Dan Saf if the game was must win, but will keep him for the finals.

so pack will have King, Momoisea and maybe Johns and Randall I expect.

Not a big fan of resting but if any 2 a rest its them too. Very nervous about no Safiti's.

Is breaking our streak really the best mindset to go into finals.

On the flip side if we win cracker of a decision.

It's really hard to know where Jirah is at.
He spent a year at Melbourne in under 20s, but hardly got on the field and when he arrived here he hardly knew how to play. He had a great year in under 20s for us, improving just about every game. By the end of the year he was not far behind Saulo and Croker. In 2019 he continued to learn in reserve grade, but didn't set the world on fire as he was still learning to play the game. From then, he has hardly been on the field. Covid last year and a pre season injury this year means he has basically just been training.
He was a Union player in highschool in NZ who tried his hand at league as an 18 year old, got a chance at Melbourne but just learnt the basics, had one good year of juniors with us and a year of reserve grade where he played 20 odd games, mostly off the bench.

In short, he's probably made a lot of progress at training in the last 2 years, but it's hard to know where he is at now, because he was still a guy who was learning to play the game at the start of 2020 and has had a total of 6 games since - all off the bench I think.

Jirah was our strongest player from his first training session in the gym - both bench presses and squats. He doesn't look like it.
He comes from a family of athletes. His younger brother is on a basketball scholarship in the US. Pity, because he is half a head taller than Jirah and looks like he can move pretty well too.

Nothing in this article really, except a little quote right at the end that has nothing to do with the subject of the article.

At the end of the article it quotes Hymel Hunt as saying the senior players have met up and all decided they want to sign long term and win a title.

"The senior boys, we all spoke and said let's all sign long-term and get to a grand final. We definitely have unfinished business here and I can't wait for the final series."

Sign for less money fellas, sounds like Pearcey would be on board too. Doubt we have the cattle at the moment, but hopefully with Gagai we have a bit more strike.
