Your team v Broncos

Billy

Danny 'Bedsy' Buderus
Klem will be back

Brailey might be suspended.

Dan won't be rushed back for a game we don't need to win, even if that were possible.

1 Ponga
2 Hunt
3 Mann
4 Best
5 Tuala
6 Clifford
7 Pearce
8 J Saf
9 Randall
10 Klemmer
11 Barnett
12 Frizell
13 Watson

14 Sue
15 Jones
16 King
17 Momoisea

Depends who's up there but I'd be resting a bunch of them. The way this team goes through injuries I wouldn't risk it.

1. Hodgson
2. Young
3. Tuala
4. Sasagi
5. To'a
6. Hoy
7. Crossland
8. King
9. Randall
10. Momoisea
11. Jones
12. Johns
13. Sue
Reserves
14. Mann
15. Klemmer (Just a short stint to have a run)
16. Croker
17. Saulo

Hunt dropped? Harsh. Try playing outside of Mann.
Putting a lot of faith in Sasagi, we've barely seen the kid play. Only just starting playing centres too, big ask coming into big games. I'd like to see Hymel in the centres & To'a on the wing, but don't know if he's actually fit.
I've not dropped anyone? It's not a lot of faith in Sasagi?
It's a dead rubber game. We can't finish higher than 7th, we can't finish lower than 7th. I've just thrown everyone in cotton wool. Would rather lose to Brisbane next week and have Hunt, Pearce, Ponga etc. etc. All healthy for week 1 of finals.

Don't rest Mann- he needs to keep working the crab out off his game. Best thing he did last night was a simple pass before pearce's try

I see the sense in that, and wouldn’t be disappointed if we chose that team. That said, I can’t see Obi picking that 17. I think he’d go with something like Billy’s suggested team above. The reason is our spine still hasn’t played much footy together this year. I’d rather play another game together and risk an injury than to rest the whole first choice spine and have our attack sputter yet again, and we are bailed out of finals week one. That’s just my opinion though.

I like it. I'd consider switching Sue and Jacob just to give him a bit of a breather before next week, but aside from that yes and yes.

Maybe even swap Mann and Hunt.

I totally agree, we should be resting Everyone that we can to be right for finals week 1.
These days it is so easy to pick up a Match Review Committee charge and be suspended for absolutely nothing. Would hate for any injuries or suspensions to happen.
Love the idea of this team

as much as id like to give some players a rest, the attack (our spine in particular) still needs real game time together taking a week off before playing parra would be a mistake

I don't really think playing a reserve grade squad & getting flogged by the Broncos is great for the mentality going into week 1 of the finals. It's all hands on deck now. If we get ahead (which is probably unlikely given how crappy we've played at times) then we can give some guys early marks.

If Ponga has any lingering injury problems, I think I'd give Hodgson a run.
It's always good to give a kid a run in the last game of the year if you can, just so they can go into pre season as firstgraders.
I expect Brisbane will be giving a few kids a chance as well.

One way we could go would be to put all the crucial players into an intense training period all of next week and sit them out of the Brisbane game, basically to get them as fit and strong and injury free as possible for the Parra game with no post game recovery or chance of injury in a game.

I don't think we'll go that way though. I think we'll keep the momentum going.

Watching key player after key player for other teams go down this weekend, and knowing we finish 7th, win, lose or draw, next week, it must be really tempting to put Pearce, Ponga, Brailey, Klem, Friz and the Safs into a training block and let all the other guys get as match fit as they can with longer minutes against the Broncs.

Broncos will be a danger game I think, simply because they’re not also in finals contention and we recently beat them narrowly. I think they’ll come out and try to hurt us.
