if boyd plays 5/8 what happens when mullen gets back if hes playing well there? does he put mullen at half back? where does robberts go? hooker? Im confused here if hes saying gagai can make the position his own at fullback? Id rather experiment with robberts at fullback, because gagai can kill it in the centers. but then your changing everyone in the spine to accommodate boyd at 5/8....

Boyd gets criticized for a lack of involvement and now he's a chance of getting a lot more involved via playing 5/8 he's getting the Wayne's pet treatment. The bloke can't win. Gidley on the other hand who's on similar or more cash, hasn't had a good game for 3 years and is a part timer at best get's off virtually scot free when it comes to any bagging.

You saying Gidley hasn't had a good game in 3 years is rubbish. And to say he gets away without being criticised is wrong too, there is a big portion of Knights supporters who have a major dislike of Gidley, as if he chooses to get injured or something. When Kurt has been fit he's been consistently one of our best players. I think anyone having a dig at Darius for not getting involved enough is forgetting how well he played late last year too.

Its easy to bag Boyd because he's a jerk. I am not too keen on Gids lately - when he's on fire he's ON FIRE but when he isn't .... I called for Gids to move to ESL at the end of the 2012 season but I can't actually BAG him because it feels like blasphemy a bit doesn't it?

I wouldn't be against Gagai playing at fullback for the start of the season. If he performs great, which I think he would, it would put pressure on Boyd to keep on performing.

Leilua and Uate on the same side could be pretty destructive.

To be honest, now that i've thought about it a bit, I'd go with Dobson and Boyd in the halves, and Gidley and Roberts sharing hooker, but both moving to the halves for specific plays.
None of our specialist hookers deserve a spot over Gidley or Roberts at this stage, and they can both cover dummy half and do a bit extra as well.

Clydesdale and Redman can both learn as much playing long minutes in NSW cup as 15 minutes of firstgrade, and Waddell is a journeyman who we don't owe a spot really.

"Highlights." Any player can look amazing, and also this is only in QLD Cup. Dobson looks like a world beater in his as well.

I just think due to the success of DCE, and to a lesser extent, Hodkinson, some of us guys think the QLD cup is a good breeding ground, and his videos, albeit highlights, look high quality. Dobson might be the conservative pick, but I'd probably go for Minto.
