Why not?
If they can whip us most of the time in England, then they should be able to beat us here too, I reckon there would be huge interest in it over here if they did it.
Imagine if it played at a packed house at Suncorp, the NRL is just so not with it, it would work I reckon.
 
What about this format?
BASED ON THE CURRENT LADDER!!!!
Group A- Manly, Les Catalans, Canberra
Group B- Leeds, Cronulla, Bradford
Group C- Melbourne, Warrington, Brisbane
Group D- St Helens, Sydney, Wigan

*They play 6 home & away rounds, what include a bye
*The Winner of each group moves in the semi finals (in Australia)
*The final played at Wembley

it would be much better than the current format what is really only a pre season fixture game!!!!
 
nah, just each competitions premiers in a once off decider at Suncorp every december, it would definitely sellout, if promoted well like a superbowl.

Ok, to make it work what time of the year to play it?
feburary? no way! (doesn't work at the moment, Brisbane too hot)
June/July? No state of origin (mid season)
late october? maybe (if they stop the pub crawl 7 days after the GF)
November? international matches played in the month (top players away)

I'm sure Frizzed will be happy you've included Les Catalans :razz: where's Newcastle though lol? Nah I do like the format.
 
What about an NFL pro bowl type thing ?

The fans vote for players at each positions to form an all star NRL team and all star Super League, then the two teams verse each other.

That's be quite a good watch ... plus it would give the Kiwis and other players who can't play origin a big match to shoot for.
