Witzer Pre-Season Challenge - Round 3 - Roosters V Knights - Industree Group Stadium, Gosford - 3:15pm Sunday, 23rd February

Thoughts on new signings/emerging players again -

Sharpe: It’s going to work! And a guy with his X factor at 6 opens up so many possibilities now. I would love to get Dylan Brown too and just have an unbelievable amount of running threat and strike, but if that falls through a pure organiser with a big boot would also be a good option.

Cant: That’s a first grader. Adam Elliott replacement. Reminds me a bit of Reuben Cotter.

Votano: Someone else said this earlier but he looks like a guy who’s got way more full field pace rather than first 20m acceleration. At first grade level that’s a centre/winger rather than a fullback/five-eighth usually. A really good one though! Hopefully ready to go when Dane hangs it up.

Schiller: Horrific defensive read but Marzhew has had plenty too. But he’s an absolute specimen and looks a real aerial threat. Locked in for round 1.

Tyrone: A year away from being a year away I think. That rugby fitness base won’t change to a league one over one pre-season.

Hunt: NFI what to make of him, looks very raw but like a great athlete. Great tackle on Dom to save that try.

Very enjoyable and the starting 13 went very well and Hetherington, Jones and Brailey were strong along with Cant.
Had trouble keeping track of most of young replacements but a lot showed some good talent.
Think Cogger will be round 1 No7, not great but good, Sharpe did very well and Ponga wasn’t used to the abundant choices backing him up, bombed try.
I’m hopeful of a strong season

I know the rest of the rugby league community will just say it’s a trial. However that was a top 8 roosters team they will be in the 8 no doubt.

If the club plays like that most weeks we will pump a lot of teams. The first Sharpe try came from just great up and in defence.
