Wilson de Courcey discussion

If you don’t back DeCourcey now then don’t at all. Lucas can assist him as he’s next to him in defence and Sharpe is also a strong defender on the edge.
Exactly if you’re De Coursey and you don’t get picked now, it will send a signal that the Knights don’t plan on using him at all, so he should move on, he is off contract this year and can talk to clubs.

And given the try scoring form he is in and the ability to play both centre and winger he will find a club easy, imo he has been our best centre/winger in cup so if you don’t reward him now, they never will.

Yeah club had him as the back up backline player for past couple weeks so Holbrook and staff need to install the confidence in him and others around him.

He’s probably our best attacking back, with current game and how it plays, feed him early ball. Watch him work. Kid takes any minuscule opportunity provided on the field.

There’s no reason we should be playing either Lucas or Cant out of position at centre. Yuck.

The club is all in on the “next man up” theme this year and has proven it so far bar one game. WDC/McCarthy are next in line. They’ve had the time in cup to get used to playing against men, they won’t learn any further without gaining the experience and getting their bodies used to the pace.

Shifting Lucas and putting Cant or Manuleleua on an in-form KPP is just as much of a risk, if not more.

You're taking a risk no matter who is there, and De Courcey has the highest upside (this week and long term). In a side that's being empowered to back themselves and play confident attacking footy he should fit right in, and hopefully get more of an opportunity to show what he can do in attack than he got on debut.

Yeah agree don’t move Lucus. We have all these young outside backs that have been playing well in cup and fringe first grade. Use one of them. I thought when Decourcey come on he played well. If he’s been 19th man then you would think he’s Hollbrooks first choice as backup.

I really think if Brown is back the next week, I would put Sharpe to 1 and Hunt to centre. But for this game I think Hollbrook will use DeCourcy.
